What's new

Shopping for a .45 1911

Starting to think OP is a troll. He has had a week. Thats plenty of time to decide what 1911 to buy, go to the store and leave with a 586 that he didnt know he needed. But yet nothing has happened
They have an ex - rental but it’s only $125 off but looks brand new. I’m in waiting for my Buckmark first. Shooting the A1 next week.

Oops wrong quote. Was responding to “you can order one”. I will be spending my money local.
You ask your friend the FFL to order you one from their distributor. It's no different than buying one they have there in stock. How do you think they got the ones in the counter in the first place?

If he asks that, he's going to have to go make new friends. An thats goona be hard to do if he owns a 9mm 1911:lmao:

I’m happy with my choice.

Fits me well , shoots nice.

A friend of mine when I was stationed in Panama had a Sig something double stacked 9mm. I’m not a little guy, but that gun felt big in the grip. I definitely need to go fondle a few of the double stack guns.
I don't have ginormous hands, but for example my P220 has fat Houge grips and I feel like I get more contact on the grippy stuff vs, my other hand. YRMV.

SS Colt 80 Series here. Love it Just have to take care of it.. I picked it up about 15 years ago for 800 doll hairs.

I have a 220 Carry that is is with me every day. It just runs. I use some f the 8 rounders in it when I take it to the range or messing around in South Tx.

Next one will be a Prodigy more than likely or potentially a Stacatto if I feel like eating Ramen for 6 months. .

Prodigy's price makes it tempting . Plan on tinkering with it and possibly tossing $100 in parts at it to get it to run.

The new Tisas 9mm 2011 is sub $700. Hopefully that creates some price competition. I like how some brands are starting to use dedicated 9mm (:rainbow:) mags in those.

I think there’s a safety recall on those Turkey guns.

Was in a LGS today in Tucson, and they had a whole bunch of Nighthawk 1911's, $5500 and up. Yeah they hand made, and really nice but damn.

Just wish I could go back in time to the 70's-80's and buy one. Here's a couple pages from my dad's catalog from that time. Gun's were a bit cheaper back then for a fully accurized 45 :grinpimp:
