at about 30:00 there is lots of call for "white bodies to the front" "No black people up front" and a fucking "protect who? Black people" chant going on.

at about 30:45 the black protestor nearest the camera says "I don't need protecting from these bitches"

^^that is the difference. malcom X was big on black nationalism, black people doing their own protecting, their own protesting, their own voice. not this new wave white guilt protest bullshit.

this new wave white guilt bullshit perpetuates racism that black people can't handle being at the front of the protest line, despite the ultimate kid hand gloves being used by the police. black people don't need protecting by white people, it is easily one of the top 3 most absurd notions highlighted by this whole shit. these racist fucks :laughing:

they are not in a poor area.

although they love to call it "historically black", seattle has done a good job of gentrifying it and seattle is a young enough city that there isn't much historical anything anywhere :shaking:


edit: also, just how seattle is, everybody that was arresting when they did the CHOP sweep was released later that day and no charges will be filed against any of them.

Seattle has only been "historically black" since WW2, just like Oakland, Richmond, Portland, L.A., and all of the other cities that required cheap African American labor and military enlistments during the war. They all moved in from the south and midwest during the war and stayed afterwards due to the great weather, cheap housing, and good jobs.

"Historically black since the 1940's" would be more accurate.

in a sense, i get and understand the appeal of radical race nationalism and islam as a counter-culture prospect, but, like slavery itself, with enough exposure and liberty of the people it will be marginalized right out of meaningful existence. I would MUCH rather debate the tenants of liberty and capitalism, or even organized religions and the community role, rather than deal with shitheads exclaiming "silence equals violence" like they have some kind of point or purpose in burning down a local neutral business :shaking:

Legend has it, he drove around a police barricade in the north bound lanes, and then got in the south bound lanes. Seems to me like he was just enjoying an empty road and things went south.

I have mixed feelings on this.

personally, i will NEVER advise ANYBODY to protest blocking a road without a permit and even then NEVER stand in the middle of the group/middle of the road. This was what i said to many people when Charlottesville VA came up.

If they had walked on to the hwy while it was open, like they have done, absolutely. If somebody drives slowly through them, absolutely have at it.

The CITY DOT runs passive blockades for this as-if it were permitted, but not fully, and it never was. In that sense, the city certainly must share some piece in the responsibility puzzle. 100% lands on the driver for the assault, he was going quick, seemed to accelerate around the sideways car, seemed to aim FOR people rather than avoid.

the city, however, has half handed shown support for this stuff. they would have been better off not supporting it. this needs to be an example added to the list of failures of Seattle in their handling of this. i don't know what is appropriate, but the city leadership has failed the city people incredibly over the last month. incredibly.

now, i'm certain that the message will get bungled, but this is where the trump early comment of "you've got to support law and be stern" and "i support protesters within the law" or whatever those quotes were, are being borne out very correct and very less damaging to actual human life.

can that message get across? I sure as hell hope so. WA would be significantly better off by turning away from this progressive agenda of the last 10-15 years where it has really ramped up. I'm concerned they are going to try to vote to go harder communist though rather than harder liberty.

he was going the correct direction for the lane of travel, hence why the "blocking" vehicles were parked on that side of the people. pretty sure it's the northbound side.

the people saw him and that is why he only hit 2 people instead of 20, it is extremely unlikely he happened to just end up on that road, the protests are a very regular thing there, scheduled time for the last month and anybody just driving through would not have ended up there with the general traffic diversion going on

I watched and it looked almost accidental. Dude was cruising pretty good on the interstate, slowed and swerved to miss that car and thump, thump, thump. I think if it was intentional they wouldn't have stopped.
