Are you including Russia in that group?Before the war, it was widely accepted that Ukraine was the most corrupt country in Europe. Since the invasion now they've somehow magically become a bastion of democracy. It's laughable. They're grifting their asses off and we know it but we don't care because we are too. When I say "we" here I mean the leadership class.
Because if you expect me to believe that they are any less corrupt than Ukraine, or that at least half the problem at the start was that bribe money started flowing to the US and our allies instead of to Russia I will have a very hard time believing it.
Additionally, as I understand it, Ukraine has been working on rooting out corruption (as much as it has been possible) and corruption has been a way of life literally for generations, it's not going to go away in a year.
From what I understand, the average Ukrainian and the average Russian have no interest in this war continuing, but the Ukranians have even less interest in being part of Russia or losing part of their country.
