What's new

Russia / Ukraine thread

108 Ukraine womens traded for 110 Russians. Most Russians were sailors of civilian Russian vessels detained from the start of the conflict.

Endless youtube links with you.
At least give a quick breakdown of what it's about. Have some manners.

so sometimes I watch the clips just to see what the normies are being fed.

starts where you need it to.
fully wants us to be involved in ramping this up to WW3 with US contractors openly in ukraine. Then goes on to talk about how it's an existential threat to the whole planet.
sweet.

Of course. Rude, selfish, immature.

I always wondered why everyone around here gave you shit. Now I see why.
You're just lazy and whine when someone points it out. Typical deflection on your part.
Not my problem you want to remain ignorant.

Drones today and Kyiv. They hit the admin building where the electrical grids is directed from. They hit the main boiler plant in downtown. Kyiv wont have hot water. I dont know why they still use these central heating plants. The drone that hit the boiler plant was fired on by the air defense system, the rocket missed and slammed into an apartment complex. Seems like some Ukraine bloggers admitted the same .gov says the oppisite.

On another note a SU-34 taking off on a training flight in Yeysk Russia lost its engines and slammed into an apartment. No word on casualties but the pilots ejected and are alive . Wonder if he could have avoided the apartment?

I had no idea a boiler for a city was a thing.
Yeah, that's an achilles heel for a lot of ex soviet cities in the winter- everyone's heat comes from a central plant via steam pipes. Something goes wrong with that in winter time things get hard.

It was guessed that if the war goes through to this winter the boilers would be a target. I'll bet we'll hear a lot about how Grandma and Grandpa are going to freeze to death this winter because of the Russians on our local news.

It is a weird leftover of centralized govt. IE "Cheaper" to build an efficient big boiler than to supply lots of little hot water heaters to all the peoples. Most of the living spaces in these USSR built cities are heated with steam.

My college had a MSW incinerator on campus and accepted trash from the neighboring towns to feed it. Basically heated the campus (yeah steam heat) for "free". Incinerator costs offset by trash fees.

ETA: Harry was quicker.

It's common in a lot of Europe actually... but definitely more so in the ex-Combloc states.

Hell, New York was supposed to be like that. But it only half is.

It's treated as a utility in not communist places. They will charge you a usage fee based on square footage or service size, or whatever.

Which makes sense, assuming you're comfortable not having full control over your heating. Most people buy electricity from the grid and water from the city/municipal pipes, and pay them to take their poops, not to mention NG out of a pipeline, so it's only a step farther to directly buy heat.

Centralized boilers are one of the reasons wood pellets went up in price so much, and why the demand is insatiable. They mostly ran on coal or oil, and they want to go "green".

What could possibly go wrong

I just can't wrap my head around why no one is concerned about a nuclear exchange breaking out or at min totally cool with it as long as we "stick it to Putin". Think about it, the world could possibly end over u fucking kraine. WTF. No negotiations, no concern over this breaking out it seems.

I can't even believe the crazy rhetoric from the likes of CNN and Fox. Full on warmongering.

I didn't watch it but have been watching Jimmy dore and Dave Smith on this and they have been fantastic.

Even Tim Dillon had a great podcast about this last week titled Donbas. It's a comedy podcast but he brings up great points.

I'll give you the cliffs:
We have to provide Ukraine with everything.
We have to put US contractors in Ukraine to take care of the shit we give them.
We have to put US contractors in Ukraine to operate advanced air defense equipment.
Russia is an existential threat to the world.

All because Russia used some drones.
not like we didn't drone strike anyone and everywhere for a decade with no war declared.

Sound about right.

The silver lining to this is recruitment numbers are down so younger people have been waking up to the sham of what the warfare state is.

In before a out of touch boomer tier rant about wokeness and lazy young kids.

Usually in downturn in economy people enlist its the only place to get a job. Not this time. My grandson after 8 years took an early out because of the push for lgbtq acceptance. Wonder how many are also just leaving for this and other various reasons?

meh got to the old person phase I guess, won't have to worry about inflation ad I can go wheel where I want to again.

B61 nukes fit in F-35s and F-22s, as well as B-2s.
All HIGHLY stealthy.:smokin::grinpimp:

In addition; our B61s are now stand-off capable.:smokin::grinpimp::grinpimp:

To give examples of their stealthiness:

Wonder where the F22 sits, and the B-21 are coming shortly as well.
