Who will be the first to try them? I have known the guys at Accutune for 20+ years. They have worked for several shock companies in both design and sales of the good stuff. Inertia (acceleration) sensitive, frequency sensitive, velocity and position sensitive shocks. Doubt they make them for a chopped up LJ, but keep an eye on them.

3 port piston, no shaft spacer, short seal head...... All things you like to see in a durable shock.

I think they are targeting Overlanders not race cars. For a ton of applications that is completely sufficient.

Wait, I was just joking about FOA.

But...Ryan?! Ryan was the PR guy shilling for FOA at their very beginning.

Coincidence, right?

Now that you got me looking, Fox 2.0 are tunable and rebuildable for not much more than Bilstein 5100s.... :homer:

Looks like I'll be going Fox now.

Well, when you have everything made in China, you can get competitive on prices.

They're about the same price as king.

But Bilstein is a throw away, so spending 25% more now, will be cheaper if I service them every 50k miles instead of throwing them all in the scrap bin...

They both have options for $2-4k also. Not trying to turn my tow pig into a trophy truck though. :flipoff2:

Cool post, how interesting. Can’t wait to see more fine details of what’s going on with the adjusters in the res. Should bump the shock theory thread as we find out more about ‘em.

Ryan did some tuning on a WJ I built out at KoH, he was great to work with and very knowledgable. Gives me high hopes that these turn out great

Hmm... might have to make some xalls and see what it would take to get a pair of these for the rear with as much of the extra bs eliminated as possible. Currently on the broncos the shocks hang at least 4" below the bottom of the axle tube with no real way to raise them easily

You're right. I'm :homer:. It was MotoChris.
Daniel Sach (Owner of Carbon) was a big pitchman for FOA, not working for them, but a big pushing dealer.
I will still say FOA is not that bad for the price, you have to QA an FOA and do the finish machining.

These Ride shocks, I don't understand his clicker setup, why it is so different than others, but they are some smart people there, if I needed some vehicle specific shocks, I would buy from Accutune.
Speaking of, how come we never get rebound clickers?

A rebound clicker needs to be done through the piston rod to be effective. If you put it on the reservoir, it does not work well because it just pulls vacuum on the piston.

Unfortunately gun drilling piston rods is expensive as heck, especially when they are very long. You can buy a mill run of material with a hole in the center, but you really have to watch your concentricity.

There has been a bunch of new shock technology released to the SxS world lately.....

We now have NOST pump adjusters:

And these shocks made by the same company:
