Better pics for you. I'm running a 4cyl radiator with factory AC on a 3.4 for refeence. It's almost like that void behind the grill is made for PS coolers and winch control boxes!!
 
I’d keep the control box some place accessible outside the engine bay. Or wire in cab switches. Nothing worse than you or someone else needing a line and the guy has to pop the hood and dig the cord out to help

I took your idea and made it work for my set up, thanks for the pics!
 
I had my buddy cut me a bracket that bolted in where the horn used to live (horn doesn't work, overrated anyways) and was able to get it all tucked away with easy access to the plug for the remote.

X3! His videos are some of my favorites, mainly because it's almost always Yotas but I love the way he puts them together. Love his dog too! Once I saw Colins rig I was wondering if you were the one with the 3rd gen runner. Love that rig. I have a 3rd gen but it's my daily grocery getter. Are you guys gonna be at hammers?

Yup that 3rd gen in his videos was my old rig. It was awesome but I smashed the body panels to much so I went to a taco for a trail rig/daily.

We will be out at hammers Friday through the weekend for the main race. If you see us come grab some stickers and coozies!

Last time I played bumper cars with @colinsmithslo it didn't go well so I bent up a stinger last night in prep for KOH

I plan on adding some gussets or tying into my shock hoop bar but this will help keep my radiator safe for now

Didn’t end up wheeling at hammers, got back and started on my exo. Got one a pillar bend plane backwards so I opted to sleeve it since toob is so pricey. Passenger side turned out better


Will post more pics next weekend

Thought Colins dog was getting fat but I see he's got a jacket on:laughing:

Cage looks as good as any as they are a necessary evil.. Ice chest has seen better days:lmao:
 
Jaeger gets cold in the shop so she always has to have a jacket on lol.

That is Colins cooler that he rolled on lol, it still holds ice so were gonnna keep running it!

I have a rat terrier as well and that damn dog is cold in the mid 80s LOL!!
 
Getting really close, still need to come up with either a windshield bar (fugly) or something that ties into an engine cage or behind the motor.

Also going to run some tubes off the rear bed bar down to the frame through the bed

I'm eager to see what you do for a windshield bar. I'm having the same debate for my Taco because there isn't a great option to go across the bay. You still have to run the tube forward 6" or so just to get in front of the cowl.

Unless you run it straight through the cowl. Hmm...

I am thinking of going into the engine bay and running one up behind the motor, I dont want to remove the wiper motor thats hidden in the cowl

Is the wiper motor fully in the way? Damn.

My thought has been to run a bar forward and straight through the bay, and then tube clamp it to the A-pillar bars under the fender. Maybe even tie the bar into the shock hoops.

It actually sits in the engine bay I thought it was in the cowl but its not, so that might be an option. I know its hollow under the plastic trim that covers the wiper area. I thought about tying into shock hoops but I may move the axle forward in the future so those will get chopped

Oh yeah, derp. I've seen the wiper motor in my Taco a hundred times on the firewall but never gave it two seconds of thought.

Through the cowl would be slick.
 
do it and dont look back, also just search junk yards for 05 and up SD axles, here in iowa i have a buddy who has got two different sets, for around 400 buck, one set had 430 gears and electric locker. fucking wild. now the market might be a big crazier now because everything has went up but do some digging. i use this site Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and just found these local to me

i just did LA 90001 and the prices were pretty close so there is that

sometimes they will ship to a local junk yard close to you for not that much too
 
Guy here just got one for 800$ front and like 500$ for rear. If I could get shipping cheap enough I would pick up a set from the midwest
