Railway strike coming 9/12

Reagan nationalized the ATC when they went on strike, now he has an airport named after him. Doubtful Brandon even remembers that far back, let alone having anyone in his cabinet that could organize a replacement workforce from the military or railroad retirees, but id love to see a bunch of the striking workers thrown out on their asses.

Biden taking credit for avoiding the strike is laughable.

For one because he didn’t, but also they probably wouldn’t be whining about wages if inflation wasn’t close to 100% on a lot of daily items, caused by guess who?

The vote for maintenance and way was like 6040, but regardless the engineers are going to reject it. Period. And all railroad employees even though they are separate unions have a clause so that if one of the crafts strikes the others follow along and won’t cross, at least from what my buddy that works for BN was telling me. So this is not earth shattering news, the engineers will strike which will trigger all the other unions to strike. Problem is they extended it past the election so nobody will feel actual pain until after the votes are counted, and that is the curious timing part. Put this out so it can’t have an effect on the election with people not getting their shit

Commies walking in lockstep… just like stormtroopers!!!!!
Even IF one had an individual thought he will suppress it, and join the formation!!!!!!

I think we have entered an age where people knowingly vote against their own interests just so their team "wins". It's a continuation of the COVID mass psychosis.
but voting for a third party is just wasting my vote.

It's not about your team winning, it's about the demonized other team losing, at all costs.
lesser evil bullshit.

Most union pres ever just fucked the unions LOL.
Go Team BLue!
I hope the workers just walk off, call in sick etc.
Note that Bidato kicked that can down the road earlier (to just after the mid-terms) so the union voters wouldn't be pissed at him during the recent election. It's "funny" how he didn't ram this through earlier - a remarkable coincidence.

what happens if they say :flipoff: and strike anyway?
I'm sure they would be in toruble.
Remember when the pilots and ATC guys were calling in sick ahead of the vaccine mandates, that seemed to work out well for them.
These union boys should follow suit.

I don't remember what happened to them. Can you refresh my memory on that.

This might be a setup...
They just stopped coming to work for various reasons. Sick etc.
Airline travel was in a free fall for a week until they just showed back up and did there job.
That's my recollection.

Non of this makes sense, did the president just force workers back?

What is the point of negotiating if someone can pencil whip a bill against your agreement.

Railroads have a very specific and unusual set of rules. Apparently one of them is that the legislative branch can override the unions. I don't think that is the same for any other union.

If they decided to do it anyways? I'd assume that's big trouble for the union.

What can really be done if they refuse to show up to work? Yeah, maybe there could be action against the union but you can't exactly send armed cops to people's homes to subject them to forced labor and still maintain any illusions of a free society.
