Project Concepts that you will never do

I was gonna do the same thing, 2 door Explorer though for a bigger bed. Kept the rear hatch just for that, was gonna do a bed cage with roof rack blah blah blah.

Then I realized the body was too gone to get the doors back on and working, then kids came along... long story short now it has an old piece of the roof screwed on the cage for rear seat shade

That is fugly. I like it.

Slammed CC dually 88-98 chev big block.
460 powered s10. Actually had everything I needed for that at one point.
First gen superduty go anywhere it fits style wheeler. I'm working slowly on that since it's still a DD.
Enclosed cargo trailer/toyhauler/camper. I've got a travel trailer, if it gets ruined somehow I will save the parts and stick em in a cargo.
50s work truck pickup, with a flatdeck and a 12v.

Had a Scout II that I was going to rebuild years ago, but instead parted it out.

Brother had a Bronco II that was given to him. Thought about building that, but lost interest as it was in fairly poor shape.

I would like to find a older 4 door pickup to build at some point. Problem right now is time and space.

Have looked at building a Volvo C30 Polestar AWD.

Volvo built at least 1 prototype then showed it off to the world, (it was on top gear) then they refused to actually build and sell them.
You take a Volvo C30, can be had with a manual, but kinda rare. Then you take an awd S-40 and swap in the haldex and rear end.
The swedes have tuned the 5 cylinder in them to over 700 HP, I would be perfectly happy with 3-400 hp.

Most likely won't ever get around to it, but it would be a fun awd hatchback.

My 72 RS/SS Camaro got out of the concept faze and then fell on it's face in 2009 when work slowed down. New Years resolution has been to move it out to the shop for the last two years............it's still sitting in the carport.

Every time I leave the house, I have to walk past it.

Do it! This is the 75 I sold, I put a 92 6bt at/od in it, then swapped 354s in, 17.5mpg in the fast lane on 35s

Sold it, still miss it, going to build another

The main problem is I have "nowhere" to do it, as in I'm not dedicated enough to wrestle with it in a gravel driveway/side yard, and anything 6bt or 6bt related around here is expensive as fawk.

I wanna take a Bronco II, cut off the roof behind the front seats, move the rear hatch up to the front of the bed, and weld it into place to close off the cab. Grab a tailgate from a Ranger and turn it into a really short bed, unibody pickup.

I wanna do that with a Subaru wagon. It would be like a modern BRAT. I have plenty of pickups and I hate body work so there's zero chance I'll ever get it done unless a tree falls between the B and D pillars of one of my Legacys.
