Had 20% HF coupon so decided to see if I like these double box ratcheting wrenches as much as the Internet claims I should.

A local guy, and now friend of mine after helping him move his milling machine recently, manufactures and sells these squares. One man small time deal but they are hella useful. I had ordered the small set before I ever met him, and then just yesterday afternoon I swung by his shop and watched him make the big pair right in front of me. The small ones are amazing for working with 2x2 box tubing.

I’ve followed that dude for a long time on IG. Haven’t bought anything from him YET. Only because I don’t do anything that they would help with

I bought a used medical cart/cabinet with 6 soft close roller bearing drawers. This one is made by Stanley. I have two other ones of these and the first one I bought 6~7 years ago, I use for my plasma cutter on top and plasma, mig and tig welding consumables. Bottom drawer for my welding helmets.

HF 15% off coupon convinced me to buy the 27" US General bottom box. My 36" Masterforce & Remline boxes are overflowing and poorly organized. I've been shopping FB Marketplace and Craigslist for 3+ months. It's all junk, over priced, or giant Matco/Snapon boxes listed for more than I've ever spent on a car.

I could get this 27" box brand new for about the same price as the Marketplace mouth breathers list their sticker bombed, filthy, roller tool carts for.

The HF staff tried really hard to sell me a matching top box, and an inside track membership, I declined. When I pulled around back to load it, the look of doubt on their face was priceless. No one ever trusts the capacity of the hatchback. We got it loaded, and they understood why I declined getting the top box too.

I like the look of the Series 3 boxes, but I really like the layout of the old 26" ones better. I already have one set and got one more when they were on clearance for the new ones coming in. I kind of regret not getting another one or two.

Bought this saturday to prune the pine trees at our campsite. Between this and a HF electric pole chainsaw I can cut a lot of limbs.
I just bought this guy the other day. Haven’t used it yet. I have a 16” Stihl pro tree climber saw I bought 20 years ago. I still use it but I like the idea of this battery saw.

Picked up 1 2002 HAAS VF2SS. I still don't have a shop yet so going to try and run it in my 40' high cube shipping container. I put in a man door a couple of days ago and will be insulating/adding power soon. Going to try and make a go of starting my own machine shop. Time to shit or get off the pot.

With the crane got it further in than I thought. A good start and sitting on skates.

Tight fit but 2" on either side. I will have to shovel the chips or cut a hole in the container and send them outside. I would have liked to insulate on either side of the machine beforehand but I didn't have time.

In place. I will add some angle iron or plate so the weight is distributed better on the floor. We'll see how this experiment will work out LOL I will be extending the roof above the machine so I can do maintenance and have room for the Z travel.

Yes, dehumidifier is on the very short list of things to add.

Seems like once you pull the moisture out of the air, you'll just be sucking it out of your coolant. What's the tank look like? Any way to make solid covers on for the opening so you can keep it contained when not in use?

The tank is already 90% covered I wouldn't take much to cover some more. Later I would most likely add a mist air filter to it. Hopefully that helps.

Been nice if you had two side by side with the walls cut out in between them for added interior room.

Yes it would but I plan on building a real shop in the next few years so I'm trying to make due.
Plan on wearing double ear protection in there. At times my mill is loud when machining but I can't imagine that space.

It pays to have some connections within the community. My barber asked me if I or anyone I knew could use some welding cylinders. A friend of his had her husband pass away and she was looking to get rid of some of his things. The welding cylinders were at the top of her list because she was a bit afraid of them.

Confirmed with the LWS that they were owned bottles and gave her $300 for the three cylinders (two oxygen and one acetylene), gauges, and a solid old Craftsman torch/cutting torch combo. Picked up a cart and new hose for them.

Are those solid tires or pneumatic? Where’d you buy the cart from?

I see a valve stem around ~5:00.

Looks like the HF special. I've been meaning to grab one of them, but also dont' really have a good place to store it as I currently roll my bottles in to a corner where a cart won't fit.

I'd probably at least pump them full of slime if not look for a set of solids. One thing I've leaned from HF and other chinese shit with pneumatic tires is they'll last a few weeks at best before they're on the rims. And if they're in the sun, they'll last maybe a year before the tires completely disintegrate. :shaking:

Yep, just the HF special. Got it during the $25 off $100 sale the other weekend.

I'm having the same thoughts about the tires not lasting and wish they were solid. We'll see.

Picked up an old used snap on 2 ton floor jack that needs rebuilt. It’s a walker jack and I’ll get a kit off of amazon and go through it when I get time. I just hope no one has been in it finger fawking it trying to fix it but looking it over good, I don’t see obvious signs of anyone in it.

I love these old USA made jacks.

It's been a long day, but I picked up a Bridgeport® Series 1 Standard Knee Mill, got it home safely, and unloaded it into the workshop. I have to say that I could not have done it without the WARN® PullzAll - for loading, unloading, and moving it into the workshop. It was definitely the star player today. There is still some work to do to get it into its final resting spot and then to unpack and organize the tooling, but I'd call it a successful day!

It's been something on my list for some time. It had been owned by the father of a friend of a coworker. The coworker actually mentioned it to someone else first, but they didn't follow up on it. I had heard about the deal and said if it would fall through for some reason to keep me in mind. A couple weeks later I got the nod. The next option was to call the scrappers to haul it away... So I got it for a price I was very pleased with and the friend and his father were also very pleased with the "extra" money they got for it.

Extremely used and owners marks ground off the casting but $85 for a 10 gauge shear was hard to pass up!

This is a made in Japan unit so I expect it to work for a long long time despite it looking like shit. Now I won’t be pissed when I scratch it

Yesterdays FBMP haul. $450 for the brake, work table and vise. Its an Enco 16 gauge capacity 48”. I jumped on it as the other side of the table looked like a great place for the slip roll.

I like those things but won’t bend thick enough sheet metal for my needs. 14-12 gauge is about the thinnest I mess with but I don’t do any body type work at all.
