Why on earth would you purposely swap a jag motor into anything? If you decide to get jiggy with it, that Jag motor is mine. Came out of a running XJ6 SIII VDP and has been in climate-controlled dry storage forever (with lube atop the cylinder bores). I have all of the bracketry, etc. as well.
There used to be a guy that had a 18' Cole runner bottom with a Jag v-12, with 6 Weber two barrels and two 6 into one headers. It wasn't as fast as some of the other boats on the river, but damn did that thing sound awesome. Why on earth would you purposely swap a jag motor into anything?
OP, I was going to suggest doing the same thing the one guy did with the other old car until I realized you were that same guy.

Im genuinely curious with hints of sarcasm.I was thinking the same thing. That pile of shit Jag motor makes less power than the engine the car came with in 1966. The only thing I would put a jag motor in is a dumpster.
Hopefully before I die I can swap a m57 into something. That thing is a bad ass little engine. It's not a huge engine bay, we have a 67 fairlane ranchero with a 289 c4. F a mod motor, too wide. Maybe if you did a tubular subframe and all that.
I was going to say m57 bmw but then you said no diesel....
Then I saw you said bmw gas. They have a ton of potential and the engine bay is kinda made for it, that'd be badass
The 3.7 6 speed is a cool idea that would make a nice driver for relatively cheap. I put a clutch in one for a guy and on my test drive I was pretty impressed, even did a little window shopping afterwards

I've got a K member and SN95 front suspension/brakes/etc for it. Already started chassis work on it with subframe connectors and whatnot
Talk me out of a mod motor though. They are plentiful and aside from the size why not?
Love the 429That cars just screams for a 385 series motor.
How bought a 1UZ Toyota V-8 ?
Me and a buddy wanted to do this to a car. Swap in a full AWD drive train and enough external speakers to mess with people. We thought it would be fun to pull into a burnout competition with it burn the back tires with the speakers on, then just cut them off randomly to mess with people. Then do it over again with the front tires.Slap a tesla drivetrain in the ass for rwd. stack the batteries in the truck. Then toss a 460 under the hood with one cylinder head and the intake still bolted to it. Let it weather and drive it to shows with the hood up.
Sit back and watch the head scratching wonder in how it got there to the show
Engines id look at would be the godzilla or an older V10.
IIRC, there was a one year California (1995) EFI that was OBD1 and mass air. Worked well with cam and head swaps, should do well in boost as well.I’d just go with a 351 Windsor and use the factory EFI
The ford EFI from 88-96 is way way easier and more reliable than any aftermarket shit
I have the factory efi on my early bronco and the Holly sniper on the 65 falcon
And the Holly sniper is a total piece of shit .
Costa a ton of money and Never ever works right .
I'm going to do it eventually. I really want to do an old pre plastic bumper MG or spitfire but im 6'3 so it would be useless for me.I have my eye on something else thats later and has room though. I'd just need the body, build a chassis from 2" chromo tube and set the body onto it. Meh, thats at least 8-10 years away if im still alive and kickinMe and a buddy wanted to do this to a car. I mean the car we wanted to do it with was a Corvair, but it would be cool to do it with a fairlane too.
