Pellet smoker?

I do. Will check out. Their facility is only 30 min from me.

They’re slightly closer to me. If I was building an outdoor kitchen and did t already have the BFG I’d consider their built-in smoker. I thought they had a 1070 built-in for around $1,200 but now the only one I see is a 1300 for fuggin’ $3,500.

The Kingsford deal kinda fucked things up, I think.

I still say they need to bring the Wyldside back. Everyone that sees mine wants one.

The Wyldside is badass! I was looking at the 1300 but the wife gave me the “sure hate it for you” look… I talked to the Rectec guys last time they did a cook/show at our local hardware store and they said the 700 does fine in a built in setting. Doesn’t look quite as nice as the 1300 though

Thinking something along these lines along with a sink, mini fridge, and griddle built in with it.

The 36” blackstone converted to natural gas. We use it 2-3 times a week and just about every weekend while it’s nice outside.
I’d kill to have access to natural gas… generator, outdoor kitchen, hot water heater… We just got high speed Internet out here about a year ago. Maybe in another 40 years…

It's fucking aweome.

I keep talking myself out of buying a CNG compressor and fueling my garbage that way)

I live on the right side of the road, quite literally as the other side doesn’t have gas lines run to it. :lmao:

I got Starlink about 2 years ago and it’s my first time having fast internet.

We used a cell router my cousin gave us that he had on his cell phone plan for years. Only good thing about it was my fbi agent thought I was shit posting from northern virginia

Got Chicken Thighs cooking tonight.

So far have done 3 briskets, more racks of ribs than I can count, lots of smoked cream cheese dips, lots of Rib Eyes, Salmon, short ribs, chicken wings, burgers, chicken thighs, Pork Burnt ends a couple of times...

What else should I try smoking?

Pork belly is on my to do list… want to make some pork belly slaw tacos.

Have you tried smoked peaches? Soak peach halves in peach brandy, slap them sliced side down on smoker for a few min (really just long enough to get some grill marks), and throw in a bowl with vanilla ice cream.

Soak peach halves in peach brandy,

That just seems like sugar with extra steps and expense.

I’d be really tempted to dunk a few in a thin glaze made from confectioners sugar next time I made them and compare the results.

The Beetus likes this idea

I've never been good at cooking steaks, the reverse sear using the smoker and griddle is foolproof. Give it a shot.

I’m planning an outdoor kitchen build this fall. I plan to build the RT700 into the counter and want a griddle. What kind do you have?
I have been enjoying my smoker so much I just got a griddle to complement it. Camp Chef Gridiron 36. After doing some research it seemed far and away the best "bang for the buck" on the market. I got it for $450 on sale, hard to beat. I was really wanting that rust resist Weber Slate but for the price I felt like I had to get the Camp Chef. I haven't cooked on it yet but man it is a tank. Came in two boxes, both weighed around 90lbs. I really wanted to like the Recteq but I think making it a pellet fired griddle was a huge miss for them. Seems like an idiotic idea to me.

Should we start a new thread for griddle content or just keep it all here since it's closely related?

Very nice! Yeah I don't quite get the pellet fired griddle vs gas. Just seems like an expensive way to produce heat on a griddle. Do the legs come off of that so it can be built in?

Update time. Labor Day sale is on at reqteq and it made the deal too good to pass up. So after consideration i bought the 1200 dualfire I was eyeing in the big bundle plus some other accessories I wanted. I have literally bought cheaper cars:laughing:. Looking forward to this thing a ton though. :smokin:

Smart choice. 6-year warranty and the customer support is killer.

Yeah I have been sold on reqteq for awhile. Seemed like people who have them really love them 99% of the time with only a few outliers. Thing is bigger than i need but i wanted something that would come close to all in one.

My Pit Boss upright is now 5 years old. It's been fully engulfed in flames several times, because as it turns out, cranking the temp to 425 for pizza after doing a full brisket cook is a recipe for fire. Still works great, but the control panel LCD is all but dead, so I invested $75 in an after market control panel, including the temp probes and starter. Hopefully it works. If it doesn't, I'll totally buy a new smoker. This thing has been great.

So something just occured to me that might make me a dumbass:homer:. I have no idea how i am going to deal with the big bastard when they deliver it.:lmao: I know it comes on a pallet and is pretty heavy. I also know it comes truck freight but the email i got said 18 wheeler. I was thinking it would be like a box truck. My driveway has a fuck ton of trees and is stupid tight and long. No idea how it is getting back here.

The big items I have ordered to my house freight usually get switched to a smaller box truck. The shipping company calls when it hits their local cross dock to set up a delivery time.

Have a truck or UTV?

Unbox it and move the pieces if not. A small SUV or CUV is big enough.

Good to know. I believe there was a footbote about appointments to residential addresses so maybe that is what happens here.

I went with Coyote for my grill and griddle. I had a RT590 before the coyote and at first I missed the WIFI connection to it but the coyote out performs the Rectec when just grilling steaks or hamburgers. It's hold temp for low and slow stuff just as good as the rectec did but it has a sear mode and will get way hotter than the RT590 would. I also did the coyote built in griddle and it is a really nice piece only draw back would be there is no splatter protection and the grease splatter on the counter tops has darkened the granite. My fix for this is when I am using it i keep butcher paper laid out on the counter beside it and that catches the grease splatter.

I love that covered outdoor kitchen. Something similar is in the plans for my next house.
