All I have to do is put down the armrest...doesn't seem that bad.

all the ones I have been in make you turn the key on, wait for the beep to stop, then start. if you don't wait, you need to start over. it's pretty annoying when you are used to every other fucking machine where you just reach in and turn the key. I swear some make you shut the door to start also. I like starting it first, then let in idel for a minute while you go through all the monkey motion. to make it move.

Door design it's just small shit you really dont think about, until you get it home and it pisses you off repeatedly in the first 30 minutes

yes, tracks are superior until you have to pay for new ones. I wish there was a standard size to keep the price dropping.

most homeowners will go a long ass time on a set of tracks. better than sliding around, getting stuck and tipping forward and back all the time.

I don't disagree with the door dumbass design. Just playing with the cat for 30 minutes had me pissed at the door. 50% of the time, I shut the unit off, and bang the door against the bucket, and have to restart to lower the bucket 2".
FYI, the john deer door pulls up over your head.

The 257 on my job site just had it's front door glass shattered 2 weeks ago from the operator trying to get out. Foreman said that's the 3rd door glass that machine has had broken.

I've never seen a skid steer with an actual glass door

almost every one I've ran was used in forestry, so maybe the lexan door is an option?

I wouldn't even think about using a masticator head with a glass door:lmao:

Damn...there's a lot of nancy's in here going on about a door and glass. Hell, I remember the days when these things didn't come with cabs, doors or protection. Most guys cut the damn top of the cab off and removed the arm folding device just so they could see what they were doing and could start these machines from the outside.

Ever run a masticator with an open cab?

Open cab is the way to go for most, but a lexan from door is a must for masticating. Even moving brush, it's easy to have a limb shoot out of nowhere and bang the door, I'd rather not take a 3" Dia limb to the face or ribs.

Dust can be a mother fucker in an open cab also since the bucket is right in front of you, but that's more of a luxury :flipoff2:

all depends on terrain. On one place I'll tear up a track if I dont pay attention.

On another I'll put a knife edge on the sprocket and the track will look new.

If I'm paying $20k it better have a cab and radio.

I run skid steers as the primary tractor at work.

All of them have foot controls. Two are wheeled, and one is tracked.

The foot controls are fine on the older two machines (one wheeled, one tracked) The new (2019?) Wheeled machine up/down foot control SUCKS! Its valve or linkage sticks, so half the time it "pops" and your bucket/implement goes flying or slamming into the ground.

The two older machines foot pedels work smooth.

They are all "Bobcat" machines.

So, all this to say....foot pedels are fine if they are working. You will get used to them.

That's true, especially if you get someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

No shit. It's also easy enough to pop the door off if you know you're going to be in and out a lot.
