Nitro gear clearance sale

Anyone have any idea how long the clearance sale will be on?

I'm waiting to get a quote on some parts until early next week and if that quote comes back too high, I may need to try and buy some more parts off Nitro's clearance to accomplish a slightly different end.

No clue honestly, I'd be interested to hear.

For those still sifting through the sale pages, all sorts of Spicer driveshaft ujoints are extremely cheap on JustDifferentials right now as well.

And here's a stock stamped 14b diff cover for $3. They make great wheel chocks, I've used one for like 10 years

Spicer Dana 70 5.86 gears for $69 (not sure what the 5/8" offset means, thick vs thin gears?)

Spicer Dana 44 JK rear 5.13 gears for $67:

find me a set of gears for a 14 bolt i been looking and luck on a deal yet:beer::beer:

Damn it! I could potentially use the 5.86 D70 gears....Got a 70-2U sitting in the shop, and I have a 5.86 front KP D60 with an ARB for a match.

Haha not much useful for a 14b yet, but I'll keep an eye out.

Hard to resist even if you're not sure you'll need them hah. Especially Spicer gears...I would prefer them over basically any other brand out there.

Ok fine, I went back and bought another lsd and a Detroit. Detroit will go in my truck and an lsd in the expedition. I figure if I don't like the Detroit I can put in the trac lock I already bought :grinpimp::grinpimp:

The joints I ordered through Summit showed up. I’m still waiting for the bearing puller clamshell tool I ordered directly off the site.

I had no idea the joints were built by RCV.

That's interesting, surprise to me as well.

So because there are enough of us who are going to have these things now...what grease should we be running? I see no mention on Nitro's website, maybe we need to ask RCV. Hell maybe that RCV CV grease is the best answer because these joints run metal on metal between hardened steel alloys (similar to a CV joint) versus the other needleless joints with bronze bushings

I probably won’t put mine in until I break a spicer or tear it down for maintenance.

Let me know if you figure out what kind of grease to use, I’ll have to order some up. I may order a third joint to have for a spare.

I currently have spicers in my chromos, but I know that breaking a joint has a high likelihood of taking out the shaft as well, so I'm going to put these in preventatively, and keep the spicers for spares. I also got a couple cap rebuild kits because they're on sale too. Figure I'll carry those along with me. I'll definitely let you know on the grease as well, though so far it seems like it may be a crapshoot. Now knowing they're made by RCV, I may send an email or give them a call

That’s the clamshell tool I’m talking about. It should be here this week.

Got my nitro locker and pinion support in. Gasket, pinion nut, and pinion shims show as shipped. Housing and D44 lunchbox don't appear to have shipped yet. Hmmmm

Just got my 3rd member, pinion support, yoke and ujoints today. Realized I accidentally got a big bad 35 spline pinion yoke, oops I swear I even double checked that it was the small yoke before ordering, oh well. Still waiting on the rest of my orders including parts that I ordered before these ones, but feeling good about it.

They've been messing with the prices of everything, but the sale is still going. 35 spline D60 locking hubs are for sale again, but $165 now instead of $115

To be honest with those colors, I’m pretty sure they’re all coming from Durasolid (old Yukon supplier from India). I’ve done a crapton of diffs with those clamshells, they’ve been worth their weight in gold.

I dunno, I think the ujoints for the micro jeep can hang with these things :flipoff2:

Got my d44 ujoints yesterday, ordered from summit and no shipping update, they just showed up
