Bored impulse buy of the day... You see what I see, I guess I'll learn more about what I bought when I pick it up Wednesday. I'm expecting to need a chainsaw to get it out of it's hole.

The glass and door handles and other bits and pieces might be salvageable. The rest of it is melted into the ground. Curious to see how much of it stays there when you drag it out.
I've gotten worse running and driving. I'm curious too how bad it is underneath. I'm hoping since it's a 4x4 it had some airflow under it over the years.

Buy it👿. Then mid engine ls swap
No. A 500 cu in Eldorado FWD unit. TH400; add a shift kit (it is just a regular TH400 with the sprags in backwards). 4 wheel steer. Pony engine up front to run everything. Gives you a clean 500 in motor with no parasitic losses.

What was the brown thing next to it?
95 Nissan, brought $725..... Some good deals at this auction if you don't mind no titles. 66 mustang went for $177, 63 chev truck $250, Several early datsun minitrucks going from 50-300. It's a long drive for me so I picked one and forcing myself to watch the others go.

It's mine... I won it already.

I picked up another project this weekend. A 4 axis CNC machine and Lathe, for $1.00 . Has a ton of extras. Cost me a few grand to get it home. Going to cost a few grand more to get it operational. But, I'd like to start building rifles as a retirement job in a few years. Plan on getting some schuulin's in a couple years. So, once again something almost free is gonna cost a bundle.

Nice thing about a classic rig that’s beat and missing parts is it’s way easier to get past the mental hurdle when it comes to modifying it.
My 48k original scout is something I’ll never get rid of but isn’t as much fun as I’d like because it’s original and nice enough I can’t bring myself to modifying it much more than things that bolt on.

That’s my secret sauce for old vehicles. Buy the worst examples of highly desirable classics then anything you do to it is an improvement.

The good news is that between now and Wednesday you have plenty of time to get all the stop signs it's gonna take to fix the cab and bed floors that thing is missing.

X2 i really like the long wheelbase 3/4 ton ones, FC170 i think?

You probably needed that like I needed another auction site :flipoff2:

:usa:
I like Hibid because its the same auctioneers I've been going to for years just online... I've done a couple satuday morning live auctions on there where I was listening to 3 auctioneers rattle off at once instead of just driving to one in person and missing deals at the other.

Always thought those things were fugly as hell.
Falls into the so ugly its cool category. So bad it's good. I also had a 62 Ford Econline pickup for a while, same deal, saved from the dead.

Always thought they were one of the badest assed jeeps ever made. :smokin: One of these days I'll find one that is about 1000* better condition than the one in the OP for the same price.
Hold onto your dreams. It will happen eventually.
