What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Same with my 450 it prefers highway driving empty. Current average on this tank is 16.5 and it's been all short trips 45mph. Almost 30k miles on it and the 19.5 front tires have worn horribly.
My fronts were pretty fucked on my '18 at 32k, never rotated any have you?

Factory alignments might as well be useless now
Around 22k miles I had the toe adjusted closer to 0 toe and less camber.

Yes I had the fronts and tears swapped side to side per the owners manual. Also had the fronts flipped on the rims. Running 110 psi in the fronts to wear the center and it seems to be working. Rears look great.

Right after a 90% full Regen

Has anyone in this thread order their dually straight from the factory?

I want/expect to order mine from the commercial truck department like I did 24 years ago.

I am testing out the manual regen option this time.
I leave it in manual regen mode only then once its full I'll enable auto regen and let it clean it on a long enough road trip.

I'll do that if it's around 80-90 and don't plan on being able to drive around. I'll let it get to 100% and do a parked Regen. Takes 20 minutes.

You have the manual switch, cause 450?

Forscan, When it gets 100% and I park the truck I get the option on the screen that shows percentage full of the DPF. No physical switch

Ok I am doing the same, I just am not sure on the parked regen, just park it and let it idle?

I also seem to get best mpg 72-75 empty. Highest was 17.5 on 2k mile trip down 95.

Optioned out a few trucks on the ford website. Two things I noticed it’s more expensive to put options on a lower model truck than a higher model. Optioned similarly xl was more expensive than an xlt and an xlt was more expensive than a lariat. Msrps have also jumped 20% in last two years i paid 46 for my xlts and 50 for my lariat, both of those similarly optioned are now pushing 80k.

No it will come up with a perform parked Regen? Press and hold ok and the engine will idle up and exhaust will get hot
I might have flubbed the Forscan programming for the manual regen.
I have had it full several times and never seen a prompt to do a parked.
I will revisit.

Playing the option game is how I decided it wasn't worth it and just ordered the Platinum.
My cousin's 450 Lariat Ultimate cost him $7k over my 350 platinum, if you deduct the $2500 for 450-350 that's a chunk of change for a bunch less shit...

Only $185k. Fuck off road. This bitch is off grid!

What did you want that the platinum had that the lariat didn’t? All I wanted was heated and cooled seats, ended up with lariat value packages, I kind of wanted the led lights but you had to get the next package up and I didn’t want to spend 8k on headlights.

LED lights, power steps, messaging seats
The Lariat Ultimate with massaging seats (not possible) would be perfect.

On the KR/Platinum there are few options, engine heater, up-fitter switches, limited slip is about all I have to add.
The color is what it is.
The rapid heat IMO is a cheat code to get the 400 amp alternators with the benefit of the rapid heat.
The skid plates for $100 saved $400 over the FX4 making it all a wash.

Lariat value used to be no keyless start, is it still?

It is a key. We have two different vehicles that have keyless start entry bs and I don’t like any of it. Half the time I hit the button too early and it’s “put the vehicle in park to start” I hardly ever lock it so It doesn’t bother me, you can start it from the app or holding down the button on the fob, although I very rarely do.

I get it, I had hell with it forever but I'm good with it now. I can leave the fob in my pocket and I don't have to even think about it anymore.

Just pointing out the differences cause guys always seem to get hoodwinked buying trucks and not knowing what they are getting vs. what they are paying.

Trailer tow technology package is another standard item in the platinum, that's the 360 cameras, trailer tpms stuff.

Nothing wrong with a base + options truck if you can buy it right, but if you have to pay MSRP it's hard to compete with the higher trim if you add too many items.

According to the 2023 SD FB group, 2023 Alumiduty seats are the same as 2021+ F150 seats.

The seat cover place sent another set for 2021+ f150 and they are not correct either. Looks like the 23s are a mix of newer f150 and 17-22 super duty interior parts.

Welp, my 2019 6.7 service truck just hit 167K miles and it's starting to become a problem....

The transmission has been doing weird things and slamming up and down ito gear so hard it feels like I'm getting rear ended by a truck. Only happens when it's warm and shifts fine otherwise.

Also the fucking engine keeps loosing boost. I'll drive it one time and it makes the normal 35+ psi and other times it won't go over 5lbs of boost. Code says boost actuator is bad but it comes and goes so randomly that I'm not so sure it's the part and not the wiring. I'm not allowed to work on it so off to the dealer it goes.

I keep trying to tell the owner it's time to order a new C&C so i can swap the bodys. $100 says they won't do anything about it until the ONLY service truck we have in Texas is broken and unusable. They act like the milage charge we pass on to the customer doesn't cover the cost of the truck. Even at $1 a mile truck is long since paid for.....

Tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. :shaking:

What's the idea behind trying to manually regen? Why not just let it do its thing? In my work truck, I rarely ever notice it cleaning.
I don't want to do a short trip and have the truck in the middle of a Regen when I get home and have to wait until it gets full again to finish.
