What's new

Need a great flashlight on a budget.

21700 batteries are also fuckin awesome. I'm phasing out my 18650s for them.
Oh great. And I was just getting rid of my AAs in favor of 18650s! Thanks a lot.

21700, 18650, 20700 and others simply refer to the physical size of the lithium-ion cell. For 18650, it’s an 18 mm diameter x 65 mm length. 21700 is 21 mm x 70 mm. While the explanation is simple, the difference is profound.
...
Batteries that we see using 18650 cells for power tools range from 1.5Ah (1500mAh) to 3.0Ah (3000mAh) in each cell.
...
On the other hand, 21700 cells start around 3.0Ah (3000mAh) and go up to 4.0Ah (4000mAh)

18650s are great because they are super common. I don't see them going away any time soon. I certainly don't miss AAs or CR123's.

Milwaukee 1100 lumen is my go-to for damned sure. Dual brightness and it lasts pretty well. I have a few other 3.0 lights and an independent charger so I always have charged batteries. :smokin:

I have a Fenix and I love it. I specifically went for 300 lumens on HI because I use it indoors for work and brighter than that can be uncomfortable for those around me. Their customer service in the past has been great. Heard it may not be on par anymore but haven’t experienced that aspect first hand. For around the property fits in my truck, big, its a Costco special rechargeable FEIT ELECTRIC. Dont know the lumens but the picture of the beehives is around 40 yards away and the tree tops are a good 125-150 yards away.

Streamlight Wedge is one of the best things Ive ever bought, use it all the time. The Singer 2020 is pretty great too.

I repped Streamlight for years so I'm biased. I love their Ten Tap programming. I setup all my lights to be on low when initially turned on and a double tap to go to high. Low is almost always enough but if you need more it's just a quick double tap away.

Been happy with Convoy flashlights. Have had an S2+ for almost 10 years. Recently bought some C8+ for more throw now that I have room to use it.

Saw this on the BD page the other day too :flipoff2:
