Naders

The silver lining in the Nader activity is something I read regarding Minden. I’d link the article but can’t find it on my phone. The jist? Red Cross opened 2 relief centers in Minden and closed them hours later as all affected residents were taken in by the community. Similar stories regarding FEMA and ARC from 5 years ago when the Missouri had sustained flooding and tried wiping out a few little towns there.
:usa:

I agree with this.

We have a storm shelter that was here when we bought the place. I've been in it about 6 times...to bug bomb it. :lmao:

It's all fun and games right up until you actually need it.

Much easier and cheaper to dig a hole and bury a shelter than it would be to try to build a nader proof room in the house.

Samething happened in Ok several years ago by the time FEMA showed up residents were already well into clean up,IIRC it was contrasted by some place back East where people were wondering why it was taking so long for .Gov to show up

When we moved here, it was county wide sirens. Now, they're pretty specific. If the siren in my neighbor's yard is going off, the storm is heading my direction.

I've had several storms pass south or notrth where the sirens around me didn't go off. When it's quiet, you can hear the different sounds.

Wish we had sirens out here. Oddly though, most storms split up before hitting us. It's quite odd how frequently it happens. I'm not complaining.

Hoping it happens again this evening.

Looking sketchy out my way again...
