What's new

My new beat up broke down Ram truck

I see nothing wrong with spending too much money getting an old truck running and driving but spending too much to paint it? nah I agree with the tractor paint or rattle can it lol.

Just a heads up if you do end up putting a rear axle in it, the early 2500 4x4 light GVW trucks came with a d44 front with 3 bolt unit bearings in 8x6.5 to match rear so you might be able to convert front to 8 lug pretty easy to match unless you want to swap full set of axles.

Wow, this one made me feel good about my hoopty.

Have to replace the PCM yet?

Me, I fixed my own body, but still have a shit ton into it.

Ram 1500’s D44 can be converted to 8x6.5 via just unit wheel bearings and rotors? Or are there’s more to it to do the conversion?

As far as I know that's it but never done it myself.

For simplicity I'll call the 7500gvw truck 2500LD and the heavier 8800gvw truck 2500HD

Edit: it looks like they use the same knuckle between 1500 and 2500 D44 and then use a specific rotor, caliper to make up difference. So in theory it's 1500 axle, 2500 LD unit bearing/rotor/caliper
