Ok possible I guess but this was all over the group text that night so who knows.. I've heard it's not real just like I've heard the x ray pics are not real, doesn't matter at this point I guess..

It's also about the support under the tube. I have done "land mines" loading shells upside down so they shotgun out the tube, I have also blown the bottom out of HDPE tubes by placing them in snow and loading them normally. Usually its only a split and the base gets shattered, but I could definitely see an unsupported tube with a big shell loaded upside down blowing out the bottom violently like seen here.
 
It’s all real. He’s having another surgery tomorrow. He runs / used to run heavy equipment.

Story is from a trusted source that he never drinks hard alcohol, right up until he started to, that day, all day.

Holy crap - if that's true, I feel for the guy a bit. Looked like the antics of a habitual drunktard.
 
That’s a stretch. When we wheel we self police and hide keys, have serious sit downs about how “you’re not going anywhere”, and it’s all pre-approved.

Seat belt or get the fuck out of my rig, etc.

Granted we are all 35-65 and with age is supposed to come wisdom. It’s worked for us for 10+ years. Nobody argues.

In my opinion, his friends kinda suck.

Not sure that I totally buy the alcohol part. Speaking from very intimate experience, if he wasn't used to the hard stuff he would have been down and out long before the incident imho. Unless he had naps, I do like my naps :laughing:

That being said, a good friend of mine blew his thumb off and damaged the rest of his hand with a m80 mickeys grenade. He's been a great heavy equipment operator in the years since then. He also made a fiberglass prosthetic to play beer pong :lmao:

One of the smartest dudes I know, one bad decision...

I've seen enough guys with missing digits and hands. Not watching that. Don't even wanna imagine what it feels like. Hope he took it like a champ and hope he recovers as best he can.
