Because people, on Irate, in this thread, are saying they see 5, five, fingers in the X-ray. How can they see five (5), fingers if there are pictures of people holding his finger up the following day? This video was taken at night, the dude holding his finger up was during the day.

I think I’m with the internet detectives above. There’s still five digits in that X-ray.

Scrolling past, I assumed those are the bones from his actual hand (palm portion), not the digits. The way it was splayed, was a similar pattern and you can see the blown out meat areas. [shrug] Looking back, it does look like there are five full fingers.

How could it be? A solid 1/4 of his hand meat and 1/5 of his hand bones were missing.

I had imagined that since this was the result of an explosive, there would be some level of cauterizing of the wound or at least some burn marks. Maybe the cardboard tube sheilded it from the heat, but the energy from the blast was still dispensed

I'm not disagreeing with the mortar being upside down. What I am saying is I have seen plenty of mortars loaded upside down, and the tube never explodes. Maybe its designed with that In mind. The way to blow up a tube is to put a mortar meant for a fiberglass tube In a cardboard tube. The mortars that come with the fiberglass tubes pack more wallop then the cardboard ones, even though they are the same size.
