What's new

Midnight Metal Works T Case.

Sounds like the job for a Dana 20.

I've kinda looked into them. I guess the Ford ones are hard to find these days. It would be in a 96 4runner. The stock 2.6 is too low for blasting around. 2:1 would be perfect, as well as double low. It's only on 35s, so strength shouldn't be an issue.

It would be behind the new nwf Toyota ecobox using the stock case as a crawl box.

No options for this in a divorced unit yet? Seems like it wouldn't be a big deal the way you can switcheroo from pas to drive side drop so easy.

If they make one for the same price as their regular t-case I would probably buy it over the Atlas since the divorced Atlas would be within a couple hundred bucks of the mm case.

Divorced is planned now that we have a american gear and shaft making company that will make parts specifically for us. 2 to1 is a ratio that is planned for the 300.

Current ship times are 8 weeks for complete cases due to waiting on gears once we are making our own that will go down, empty cases are 4 to 6 weeks.

The creation of this case came about after tons of issues with another replacement case makers product under its previous ownership and poor customer service. So rob shot for a better case at a better price.

We would love to see external dimensions on trail heros case just because you cant find them anywhere. See how our case may or may not package better.

Is this what your looking for? This is for the 3 speed. I'll have to dig some more and see if I have the 2 speed dimensions. I bought a 3 spd, so I may not have those.

Our doubler making it a 4spd adds 5 inchs. We are working on super short reat ourputs to make our length less. Our np205 is the same width and height as the hero but shorter

When's the release date on the bare 205 cases and how long before you're offering them with ratio selections/ complete built case like your 300? I didn't see/ couldn't find anything 205 related on your website.

Collecting parts for a build and would be very interested in trying one of these out in the next buggy.:smokin:

The Hero is a 3spd, so there is another set of gears in there. I'd guess the 2spd version is probably closer to your case length.

So the 205 case your making is smaller than an Atlas case? I was under the impression that 205 gears were larger than Atlas gears and therefore would require a larger case.

Later this summer we will offer the empty diy case first. Then complete cases with 3 to 1 gears start.

Yes the low max 3 to 1 are large our case could of been much shorter if we had not been designing for them. That intermediate gear especially. Our np205 case maintains a thickness like our dana 300. Thing to remember with atlas is they are cast aluminum and need to much thicker to be strong. If we were designing around the stock gears we could of kept our height the same as the dana 300. The stock np205 gears fit in our 300 just the shaft spacing is close together.

Also our 4spd dana 300 and np205 will be close to the same length as the 3spd hero when we get our supershort rear outputs done.

Found the 2 speed Hero dimensions. I got this from a google search and the numbers don't jive. It says it's only .250" longer than a 3spd.

Maybe someone can verify

Tailshaft looks longer than the 3spd trail hero definately makes a nice case from what ive seen i pictures.

We are big on customer service and trying to make products fellow wheelers like us want.

Im already set up with a 203/205, like im sure many are. Its been in there forever; all my mounts, shifters, driveshafts, armor, etc are based off that driveline length and my 205 mounts. So if someone sold a range box that would drop in place of the 203 + adapter and didnt change the overall length of the doubler, id be sold on it immediately. I cant be the only one that doesnt want to do all that extra rework because my tcase changed length by 1".

Billet 203 range box housing mated to a billet 205 housing would be cool in a rednecks with paychecks kinda way.

If the range box +adapter were shorter than your 203+adapter, there are usually clocking rings and spacers that you could make to get the desired length, as long as spline engagement didn't do you in.

i doubt their customer base is people that already have a working doubler that they want to take out and replace it with theirs

Thats what I was thinking.

Is there a black box configuration that's close to a 203 length? Still only gets you 5.44 vs 4:1, but there isn't much options for crawl box ratios.
