I love shadetree, function over form, fabricators, these are my people LOL, it is cool seeing trail mater's buggy work as good as 100k buggies
 
Gotta give anothe shout-out to Hector on Howling Wolf Garage. Dude is chopping the top on a '50 Ford.

He fabricated compound curve roof panels from flat stock using only his mitts and a bench vise.

Someday he'll be big and will have a $$$$ shop with all the tools, like Fab Rats, but this is the stuff that keeps it real.
 
I guess my premonitions came true, wrecked another 205 and transmission, finally going to get a SCS with deeper reduction in it.


 
Anyone ever see the angle grinder bench grinders they have?

I was thinking I need one of those for flapper use on small parts.

It's not much different than my disc sander but it would have much softer grit disc and with no table it might save my finger tips....
 
I like watching Nate over on dirt lifestyle. He is doing Matt's offroad games. He talked about it in a recent vid. His "novice" is some dude from across the pond that trains people to race cars or something. Looks pretty interesting.
 
My nephew is getting me into Junkyard Digs on the utubes. No off reading or much fabbing but a lot of working on junk cars and driving them home.
I still watch Matt when I have time

I get what you are saying, although he does have pretty decent skills and attention to detail, he still will make some pretty bold claims then get proven wrong in the next video he makes. At least he owns up to it. Some of the other channels I can't even watch because they are so goofy, Nate has good skills with editing/camera/talking to keep you watching but still goes into details a bit more than other guys which I like.

My favorite channel right now is probably Dave's channel. I remember reading about his Isuzu over on pirate back in the day, it is cool how he did a walk around on it, and showed it off a bit. I actually learn quite a bit from his vids.
 
Did any of you watch one of MORR's recent vids where he took the Bombi to do a recovery, what a shit show, one thing after another, even Robbie's Bombi broke down, no backup plan in place, it's a wonder someone hasn't died yet. Good entertainment................lol

Matt doesn't have actual backup plans. It usually works out ok.
 
I'm surprised no one is commenting on the Off road games hosted by MORR.
I tried to watch the livestream yesterday but I had to turn it, the shot when I went to it was a novice driver driving a pro's Jeep up a trough with about 100 people standing at the bottom with their phones out. If shit went sideways there was going to be a lot of people hurt in short order. I think he will not be allowed to host them again.

It's real fucking great watching them in the tow race area running over/smashing that car. Debris everywhere and gave the appearance of a bunch of unruly people not giving a shit about where they were or what they're doing. We do that shit but it's on private land that friends own and not broadcast on YouTube to a channel with the popularity of Matt's.

I sound like a Debby Downer but don't do that shit on public land and show it to the mainstream popular media. Doesn't really support the cause to keep wheeling land open.
 
I've got a couple buddies that flew out to the Offroad Games from AR. They said they've had a blast, they've been sending photos and videos to my group of cronies for the past few days. They said that Rory fella is a pretty good driver, "has a sixth sense for finding the best line."

I'd like to go out there to wheel, don't really care to watch Youtubers compete. I'll probably watch the videos just to look for my buddies in the crowd.

Yes, they are going to be offended no matter what, and I agree fuck em let em be offended. Don't, however, give them viable evidence to use in their fight against people wheeling public land.

All I see in this video is a bunch of clout/money grabbers, grabbing what they can without a fuck to give to the consequences.

Rory just had a video (last week?) about trail etiquette and keeping land open. Preaching a sermon and acting in opposition to what you just said is peak hypocrisy.
