What's new

Lurkers now Posters

Never posted much on pbb, but with how easy it is to post pics here, I will undoubtedly be posting more here.

Lost my login info when they switched. Lurked there since the very early 2000's

i guess if chit-chat posts here count then i'll probably end up with a hefty share :homer:

sometimes i post when i'm feeling manic, some times i post when feeling depressed, can't tell which way this site will go yet :rasta:

I was also a long time daily lurker from the early 2000's. I'll probably mostly lurk here. At least now I have a profile.

I think my post count in the other site was, or is around 200 or so (Dif name there). That's after over ten years of dropping in there. I spent quite a bit of time in the tech and build threads getting ideas and learning from others mistakes. For that reason I imagine I'll still be dropping in there from time to time.

Hope to be able to chip in more here, but work and life always seems to get in the way. Shit, If I was to start a build thread it would be one of the slowest ever. Currently have two projects under way and no free time to work on them.

I lurked pbb since 05ish. Lost account in the reset made new one and lurked some more. Might put in a bit more effort now

My dick poked outta my pants for about 2k posts over yander.

Prepare your anus' :flipoff2:

I never posted much, mainly came for the current events analysis and discussion. The banter was always entertaining and the different points of view were enlightening.

Lurked there for years, joined, lurked more. It went down the drain, came here, will lurk more. Carry on.:flipoff2:

Mostly lurked, gonna try to be more active on here.

Maybe even post a build or two. Haven't done one in years since the Photobucket deal but I'd like to give it another go.

I avoid FB way to much bullshit, hate the drama. Forums are way better.

I had a couple of accounts before heavytlc that I lost passwords/emails for. In 19 years I had a few thousand posts. Found my stolen dog and truck because of the forum. I missed the format but just lurked for the most part. For 2 decades I went to GCC to get the latest update on world news. I hope that continues here. I will try harder to contribute myself.

Found PBB back in 2008 or so when someone linked something from Ghetto Fab thread to a sportbike forum I was on. Started a profile in 2011 I think, but didn't post much. Haven't really built anything outside of bikes in a long time. Bought a couple welders and a plasma along with a bender so I will be dabbling in Nun killing machines here. Not sure how much I'll be posting, but PBB was a daily stop for at least the last 10 years.

I lurked on PBB since 00 and signed up in 04. Didn't ever post too much. I used to post a lot on off-road.com BB. Willyswanter and a bunch of other cool guys were active on there. I know a lot of people felt that way, but it really hit me when he passed. I posted a little suzuki samurai and Toyota pickup tech on PBB, but really not much until my 3 ton thread.

PBB got me through some bad times and created some strong friendships.

When I was going through the housing crash and losing everything I needed an outlet. There always seemed to be something on there to help. Whether it was someone else having a harder time than I was, advice on how to get myself back together, or just someone to argue with when I was angry at the world. There were a lot of times I just needed to blow off steam and would argue points i didn't even believe in just to have a distraction.

I posted in chit chat a lot. My desire to own a capable rock crawler faded a long time ago, but the people on there kept me coming back. I always knew where to go when I needed an answer I couldn't figure out on my own. I've made quite a few great friends along the way.

early years when the tech was good and I was building shit, I lurked and learned,.
Think I'm on my 3rd login, used to have different names for different forums, computer and email changes lost shit thru the years, standardized now too old for fancy shit.
My shit is build and running .
now I just come for the mems

WTF is this about

Lurked on PBB since 2002, benefited from a lot of awesome tech and posted a few times. I'm not real talkative online or in the real world, but I hope this place really takes off.

I hate to think how long I lurked there and posted every now and then.

I was somewhat active under my old Wildcat account. Then that account got fuckered in some upgrade.
Posted about 180 posts since 2003 on the island trooper account but for most of that time I had a non 4x4 daily. Back to a 4x4 so intend to be more active again.

What's the wheeling like out there? You're in Angus right? The island is sprouting more gates every day with the takeover by mosaic "forest management". Good news is, gates are only as wide as the road.:flipoff2:

The mob ran me out years back. I cut bait and walked away. Someone a week or two mentioned some people there were chatting about me. I made an account there to post, but I never hit "post". Didn't want to rehash all that drama.

Quoted for truth and the future here.

woah, hey now :flipoff2: I figured if Roc Doc could post up in the lurker thread, i could too :rasta:

this was supposed to be the clean slate so that the old members could come back and not worry about their "post count and join date" and other nonsense. :flipoff2: "Let it go, let it gooooo!" :flipoff2:

Long time lurker at pirate. I think I created my first user I'd when I bought my fj40 back in like 2000. Then I forgot the details and created another one when I got my jeep and started work on the La Dee trails. Then the great password debacle happened and I no longer had that email. So I created yet another I'd. Then I had camo reset my original for me... then I just quit going. It got old... no more funnies. No one wanting 300 bucks, no one shitting in a sun roof, fat dan quit trying to join. The TP was dead. I read a lot of the shit about ashke (was that the kids name?)... but it just seemed like it had died.

I actually saw the irate4x4.com "announcement" on pirate book on facebook and joined here. Already it feels better, feels more original more like the old school pirate... hope it stays this way. I have facebook for friends and family, and always enjoyed pirate for a bit of anonymity and being able to tell people to eat a bag of dicks without worrying about what my aunt would see... that's why I like forums better. I think the minimum level of autonomy that they provide enables people to speak a bit more freely than a facebook

. Anyway... yeah. Long time lurker, glad to be here, glad togbe able to get in on the ground floor with my user name. Usually a tough one to grab...

Looks like mostly mud. Not my thing.
I miss the island and JoJo and spider and no snow....why the fuck did I move here?
Only use the TJ to get to wildlife so not much wheeling. Most adventurous thing is when I hit a snow drift at 80 with just the right front. Nothing like high speed unexpected drifting. :grinpimp:

been jeepless for 10 years, that came to an end last week, so i actually have something to post about... looking fwd to building again.....
