Low Testosterone

These "it fixed my life" threads bore the fuck out of me.

I want the "I got the sex drive I had when I was 16, wife wouldn't put out, so I killed her, when her dad asked where she was, I fucked him too, and now I'm in prison" stories.

I came way too close to writing that story instead.

How was your sleep before therapy?

My breathing and sleep is absolute shit, and Im sure its draining my T levels. Had two surguries, breathing is still shit, so is sleep. When my nose is clear and I can breathe, my sleep is better, and I feel twice the man the next morning.

TRT interests me, but I need to get this breathing issue resolved. Sometimes I think its my karma payback for pissing off do many of you fucks back in the day. :flipoff2:

OP, good post, thans for sharing.

If you haven't had a sleep study already I'd schedule that shit now. Sleep is a game changer! I had sleep apnea my whole life. Had never heard of it until recently(from a friend who found out he had it.) Started CPAP therapy 5 years ago. Sleep great now.

Hmp. My wife started talking to me about T shots earlier this year. My issues are all the above. That and major nerve pain from the lower spine to my calves due to a couple bulged discs (one previously herniated). Docs have told me all my blood specs are good and a couple gave me the eye roll when I explained some problems. I haven't felt right in the last few years and hit 37 this year. Something to ponder.

I hear ya. I have 2 disc that look like wedges instead of columns. Turns out most of my back pain was from sitting a desk, not the discs. Worked a ton of core and mobility with my trainer. I am more pain free than when I was 35.

I'd start looking for a new doc.

Just jumping back in real quick, I’m not going to take time to read all of these replies so there’s might’ve already been said. My consultation at a actual hormone clinic was $60 out of pocket. I didn’t use my insurance even though I had it. They want to get you in there and get your labs done so they give you the introductory price. Do not go to your general practitioner because they don’t know shit about hormones. Even if you feel good but you are in your 30s or 40s, go get a baseline for less than $100 and know what level you feel good at. Look at all of your t numbers not just total and also your estradiol. All of this is voice to text on my phone and I am fairly intoxicated so forgive any fuck ups. Potential edits in the morning

Absolutely risks with any treatment. Weigh them for yourself.

The old doctrine of MONTHLY  or bi-weekly injections send you on a roller coaster. The gels are crap. Shit is WAY more dialed now days and getting better. You get regular blood work. My labs look better post TRT.

Very few people enjoy stabbing themselves, but it's worth it so I do it.

As far as ball shrinkage I didn't think to do any objective measurement. Subjectively I can't tell, so I'd say it hasn't been significant yet. I mean if they do shrink is that going to slow the sag rate due to less mass? Am I gonna have the balls of a 18yo when I'm 90? Do they keep shrinking indefinitely? Do they have nut prosthetics? Can I get custom nuts made?

Next on Shark Tank...glowbalz, like light up Sketchers for your nuts...

Also there was like a 20 page thread at the other place on this exact topic and that is what convinced me to go bother my regular doctor about a test which he blew off and then finally gave me and told me I was totally normal at 2:70. That same thread then prompted me to go To an actual hormone doctor that told me what I was feeling is normal for having the testosterone level of a seventy-year-old at 40. If your wife doesn’t like to have sex the increased drive can be a problem.

Looking around. I'm wanting a physical trainer to go to, but it's an hour drive and I currently have no ride. Have to take my kids along on 90% of my trips to town. My blown discs are from lifting stuff I shouldn't have for years. L4-L5 doughnut barely has any jelly. L5-S1 has none at all. Could barely walk for a couple hours this morning after trying to install a Dana 80 diff from under my truck by myself yesterday. My nerves from waist down have gone haywire. Can't exercise without causing more damage, so I've gained 15 pounds this year.

As far as testosterone, I'm told I'm good (whatever that meant). But everything described above matches and my wife and I talked this over for some time months ago. Low T seemed logical. Then again, I've fought some pretty deep depression in recent years. And I'm not about to take any pills for that. Kinda need some good company and a physical workout.

i cant see myself sleeping with a mask. so ill keep slowly dying if i cant figure this nosr shit out.

Horny goat weed from the gas station? :flipoff2:

It works by relaxing blood vessels in the penile area, well "works" is a relative term, its not a blue pill, more like a supplement. Not sure if or how it affects T directly, maybe better blood flow to DEEZ NUTS?

They make neuticals for dogs that have been neutered. Maybe you could get a custom set? :flipoff2:

Are there any natural ways to boost low testosterone?

I'm about to turn 47 yrs old, and I have researched this a lot. I'm holding off on using synthetic testosterone until absolutely necessary.

From what I have read, none of the OTC supplements work.

1) Sleep: Make sure you are getting a solid nights sleep every night. It is best to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Melatonin works for me.

2) Diet: You wouldn't put year old gas from your lawn mower in a Ferrari, so don't put fast food garbage in your body. Learn to eat clean balanced meals.

3) Body fat: If you are overweight, reduce your BF percentage to acceptable levels. T levels drop as body fat increases.

4) Alcohol: Stop drinking or at least reduce alcohol consumption. Alcohol reduces T levels.

5) Cardio: Get good cardio workouts a few times per week (running or MTBing etc). A strong heart will increase sex drive and your general get up and go.

6) Weigh lifting: Strength training has been proven to increase T levels. The most bang for the buck will come from the big compound movements

I was in a pretty bad spot in 2016. Mild depression, weight gain, etc. Started taking prescribed meds to help with weight loss and they almost killed me. One of the side effects- depression. Shit was wild. I have a new sympathy for people with depression. It's no way to live. Lucky I figured it out, stopped taking the meds. Never understood how someone could kill themselves until then.

My trainer specializes in functional fitness. I'd highly recommend something like that. I work out with a kick ass 70yo lady who was at deaths door, and is now a kick ass little fireball. When she started 3ish years ago she had to take one step, rest on the handrail, catch her breath, get her balance, repeat. Now she can run up that shit. I'm not trying to look like a fitness model, I want to ENJOY LIFE. I can do shit and not worry about being wrecked the next day. 3 years ago I'd work hard or play hard and be laid up taking muscle relaxers and pain pills for my back. Now I don't worry about that shit.

Everyone can make their own decisions. I really regret not making my health a priority, just accepting that's how it is. It's not always easy and I suck at the diet side, but I feel better than I did at 35.

There's no sense in that heavy lifting shit at our age, I want my joints and will take my gormless skinny frame to keep them. I'm more worried about slipping on a step halfway up then catching my balance before I break a hip. I don't feel like being one of these 70 year old invalids.

Gout did a number on my right toe, now I have problems there first if anything, then right knee. That's already a weak leg that I'm likely to favor if I'm doing some heavy stuff. That's what causes accidents and injuries. I figured it out, all those old people trying to favor an aching leg getting out of the bathtub, slip and fall and knock their head on the toilet bowl. Listening to the EMS channel on my radio has given me a new appreciation for the dangers of falling down and not being able to get up. That commercial went from light comedy to a horror show.

We do so much work on balance, coordination, timing, and just getting off the ground. I move FAR better than I did 10 years ago. Before it would be a slow lumbering creaking groan to get up and down. Now I can pop up and down like a fat spider monkey on meth. The first 6+ months were me getting up and down in various tortuous methods.

I really took note when I was working on our house. Balanced on a floor joist over a 10ft drop, banging away in a awkward ass half crouch. Felt rock SOLID. All that silly balance and core work paid off. Worked all day, which would generally mean I was a wreck, downing pills to get moving again. Nope, felt fan-fucking-tastic. It was one thing to do better in the gym, something else entirely to realize how the "silly" stuff translated to real life.

I always equated working out as either running or lifting heavy shit. I felt kinda silly doing TUMBLING, LOL. Seriously we did a year of me just falling down, somersaults and toddler level gymnastics. I should get the video from him. My 260lb ass doing forward rolls and somersaults! :D (240lbs now and still working)

You really need to get out and get some exercise. Start with walking then stuff like cutting firewood and other outdoor stuff. The old people I know that still cut firewood, do handyman stuff, etc are the healthiest.

Just wanted to come in here to add that since I got that old Michigan loader with the 6v71 going and have been running it, I have developed 10x more chest hair and fathered two children. Just sayin.

Edit: make that three children.

Right but that's not overhead pressing 200lbs 2x a week for years, then wondering why you can't lift your arm over your head at 55 years old. I know people like that.

Balance in all things. Except horsepower and ammunition. I have never had too much of either.

The key to being able to lift weights as a life long exercise is this:
1) High repetitions (10+)
2) Move the weight SLOWLY
3) Proper form and range of motion

That isn't fun though, and it doesn't look cool, so most guys load as much weight on the bar as they can possibly handle, then bounce the bar off their chest for 1-3 reps.

I'm with ya on the 2 stoke diesel therapy..

There's an idea. I've got an 8v92 that I need to fire up again.

Just wanted to check in with my experience, YMMV.

I'm 57 and a fat fuck but still in fairly good shape, in that I take zero meds. I first asked about it because I was feeling really run down. Started out with my regular doc who did some of the needed blood tests and then started me on shots every 3 weeks. Solid meh except I definitely had highs and lows, so some other types of blood work was recommended by some people that I trust. When I asked my Doc about them he informed that no he wasn't going to do it and they were a waste of money so .......... I went and changed primary care docs. When I asked her about it she told me I needed to be speaking to a Urologist, cool I actually had an appointment with one in a few days.
Day comes and after our business was done I asker her about it and told her what was going on and where I was. First thing she did was order the same tests my first Doc wouldn't do. Tests came in way low so she prescribed me Jatenzo @ 237mg, apparently its the newest kid on the block. Its 1K per month but my copay is only 10.00 so I was stoked. Insurance said it was excluded from coverage, she got on the phone and then called me to go pick it up. No idea what magic she did on them but hey !
Today was my first time so I'll keep this updated.

CLIFFS: Got some expensive dick meds.

So just to follow up on this.
Follow visit up after 4 months, blood work showed testosterone @ 270 ish, she want to see it @ 600. She changed the dose from 237 twice a day to 360 twice a day with a follow up in 5 months

The pills are way better than the shots. No highs and lows at all, I've got more energy and feel pretty good. Dick works great, wife is like wtf !

How many of you have any concern that these hormones are going to give you some form of cancer down the road later in life ?
