What's new

June 4th, 2004: Killdozer.

Watch the documentary, It was on Netflix i believe. I thought he was a badass up until i saw that. It seems he was just being unreasonable thinking everyone was out to get him.

Did you watch the documentary? I did and it seemed to me, people WERE out to get him. RIP Marvin.

Yes, all of it. Too far back to remember details, but it seemed to me he was offered a reasonable solutions to his problem and he refused to even hear them.

I would love to hear another account of the story.

Netflix? The same company that pushes scantily clad dancing seven year old girls as "normal"? That Netflix?
Yes I hate netflix, I hate my other options for TV more. Never seen any weird shit like that on there. Im more of a sit on the couch and watch ripped roadkill garage episodes or zip ties & bias plias until the wife bitches enough she wants to watch a movie.

I remember watching this on the news
and the guy that took the tank down the freeway

You ever watch the Waco series? They make the Davidians looks like perfect angels.

You know they fictionalize everything, right?

As long as you count the city wanting him to spend 100k to install a toilet reasonable. The septic wasn't an issue until he bought it if I remember correctly.

I thought Tread was a good Documentary. The main things that made Marvin seem like a loon were the recordings that he made of himself. I think on some level the city and long time residents fucked him over, but that could very well have been because he was an abrasive loony asshole.

Either way he got off of the porch about it, which is admirable in and of itself. Plus the way he did it was epic.

Now if he had been able to use that .50 effectively or got anybody but himself killed it would be a lot harder for us to idolize him.

did he even fire the 50 off? if i was him, id be hitting the engine block of every single cop car trying to stop me with 660 grains of hateful vengeance.

I want to say that it was pointing out of the back but the attachment back there blocked his shot? I'd have to look it up and there is only so much searching of this kind of stuff I want to do on my work computer:lmao:

IIRC, the only shot he fired was the self inflicted shot.

Not to get off track, but ATF fucked up from the get go and doubled down at every move. They just wanted a reason to shoot someones dog.

Marvin wouldnt have done what he did, if he wasnt pushed to the edge by others.

Agree that the ATF fucked up big time, doesnt mean that David Koresh wasn't a fuckin wierdo kiddie fucker that was portrayed as a good guy in a docudrama

He fired the 50 several times at a propane tank farm. He used the ripper mount so he could raise and lower it to aim. It kept hitting the ripper due to the angle he was at. He could only see out of it using 4 cameras hooked to a tv inside. I don't think he knew the bullets were being blocked.

huh. I had no idea on that.

Ok I searched the documentary.

1:02 he is shooting at cops behind jersey barriers with the .308 semi auto (FAL?)
1:15 he is shooting at giant propane tanks with incendiary rounds out of the .50 but hitting the implement on the back of the dozer.

Edit: Late

Netflix documentary: The survivors live to tell the story. Of course they only have bad things to say about him.

50 cal. He built the armor box with the ripper attachment sitting on the floor. On his rampage he pointed the ass of the dozer at some giant commercial propane tanks and fired at them. Flaw in his plan was that with the ripper up the bullets panged off the ripper bar instead of going anywhere. What he didn’t know from inside the box was that all he had to do was set the ripper on the ground and his shots would likely have hit his intended targets.

His cameras were 1990’s era garbage by today’s standards. His bullet proof glass covering the cameras with dusters were 100% effective. Imagine how much better he could do today with a handful of modern cameras and gps location tracking

I think they portrayed him as a weirdo kiddie fucker. I also think they portrayed him as extremely charismatic which he would have to be to convince that number of people to be a part of the cult. Hitler was charismatic too, does not make him a good guy.

That was implied by the young (14?) teenage wife.

Comparing the two is wrong. Marvin wasnt a "bad" person until invoked.

Plenty of people target IRS buildings, they're not doing that because they dont like the paint scheme.

I went through town in 2015 and you could't even tell what had happened 11 years earlier. They made sure to erase him and anything relating to him.

Still would have ended up in a basement.
Maybe. He wasn’t going much further than that anyway. It was at most only minutes away from seizing that engine up when he got bellied up and couldn’t move. Didn’t have a drop of coolant left so it was pretty much over right there.
