Tread on them.
His camera systems were such 1980’s pieces of shit. If anyone is in the middle of a killdozer 2.0 build please do two things. A $200 dollar 4 camera setup for an RV. And mind your temperature gauge to get more mileage out of run of terror. I know you’re going to be full of adrenaline but taking cool down breaks and then restarting it just as people start to think you’ve given up will bring a new twist to the story.
Did you ever watch/listen to his videos he recorded as he went about building this thing? He was a god fearing Christian (in his mind). In the beginning he was kinda praying to get caught or stopped before his mission got completed. The further he got the more he was believing he had god’s blessing to do this.I have no idea if his grudges were legitimate, but if they were, he did it wrong. Why go on a suicide mission if you're not going to take other people out?
It’s my dads birthday today, and my 24th anniversary of the day I got myself put in the ICU with 2nd degree burns over 25% of my body.Shit, thanks for the reminder. It's my mom's birthday .
How did you do that?my 24th anniversary of the day I got myself put in the ICU with 2nd degree burns over 25% of my body.
Being a piece of shit. Lit a parts truck on fire and the mostly empty gas tank with no gas cap on it did the back draft thing and blow torched me while I was wearing shorts and a tank top.How did you do that?
This one?About a year or so ago I watched an incredibly accurate and fair video of the entire situation, from him establishing his successful local business and detailing all of the dirty tricks played against him. The vid did not take sides but impartially presented the situation. I wish I could remember the name; I feel somewhat confident that someone here posted the link. If it wasn't here it was probably Reddit.
That wasn't apparent while he was tearing up and town and I doubt that he would have stayed in one place long enough to set up a crane .I bet that concrete factory construction site had a crane or two
He also no longer had a reasonably successful business since this was all ove the loss of access to it.The tread movie was pretty biased. Just watch who they interviewed - it was all family of the people who had been the issue. The only proponet of his was the GF, who was audio only.
It really struck me, one of the people said something like "He had a reasonably succesful business, he should have been happy to keep it at that". The guy was like the son of someone from the concrete company. Whistindiesels videos had a more fair interview spectrum from a youtube loon.
The tread doc definitely left out a couple pieces of the story I think are pretty significant. That doesn’t mean I think what he did was right or ok.The tread movie was pretty biased. I definitely have some sympathy for Heemeyer, but he wasn't exactly reasonable the whole time, either (particularly with the negotiations to sell his property to the Docheffs; he kept raising the price after principally agreeing to previous terms). I also understand small towns can be stifling examples of the "good ole boy network" a lot of time, so I also have some sympathy for him there. I guess I sympathize with the idea of the Killdozer more than the actual man involved, but most things in life seem that way. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the Vermont middle finger man (Ted Pelkey). The tread doc definitely left out a couple pieces of the story I think are pretty significant. First. The dry bulk storage for the batch plant got erected literally in the driveway that went straight to Hemeyers shop. It was on the Doseph property but they put it in his old access road. Google used to have easy to find pictures taken from an airplane. From where Marv drove the dozer through the garage door it was a straight un encumbered shot down the road to the first thing he took out. That tower full of dry concrete. Now if you go look at google earth of that spot you see what it looks like now. In 05~07 the google earth image of that place very clearly showed the bulk container at the property line and taking up the whole road.
Second. The reason he had that dozer in the first place. Was to make a new entrance to the property via a different street. His last straw with the zoning committee was that legal access change denial. His property got property locked as it was surrounded by other properties with no legal access road. A lot of docs and stories make it out like he bought the thing with the plan to build it into the killdozer. That is not what happened. He bought it to do dirt work with, then his permit to do said dirt work got denied by the zoning board. He had the dozer for sale for cheap for a while before the thought crossed his mind to go full retard with it. The komatsu not selling was his first message from god that that is what he needed to do with it. He says that on a VHS tape in his own words. I’m probably messing up a few details of that but if you listen to his side of the story in his own words there’s content that victims gloss over because it makes them look bad.
I have plenty of criticism for the guy. He was an absolute asshole No doubt about it. He didn’t want to pay for a sewer system but he paid $50k cash for the dozer. His priorities were all fucked up. Easily his own worst enemy.I definitely have some sympathy for Heemeyer, but he wasn't exactly reasonable the whole time, either (particularly with the negotiations to sell his property to the Docheffs; he kept raising the price after principally agreeing to previous terms). I guess it's hard for some people to understand the good ol boy system that plagues alot of small towns. If you are in the way they will crush you and take turns shitting down your throat.
I can clearly remember the dozer ordeal in detail and it's been distorted pretty bad over the years. Truth is the town leaders used the city council to ruin the man's life because they wanted his property.
The sewer thing sounds bullshitty to me. How did he run a business for 10ish years before it became an issue?I have plenty of criticism for the guy. He was an absolute asshole No doubt about it. was it though? The tread doc definitely left out a couple pieces of the story I think are pretty significant. That doesn’t mean I think what he did was right or ok.
