U cant train explosiveness
Your born with it. He obviously decided he didnt want be be a fatass in old age
Look at the size of his legs, no wonder he can throw so much power
Must be the steady diet of weed and coke :lmao:

Id love to know what his standing vertical jump was in his early 20’s
Id bet up near 40”

Anyone who has competed in sports at any level should understand this. Every average Joe to even run of the mill good athlete has ran into that guy that made you realize that there's nothing you can do to close the natural talent gap he has on you. The guy is just better. You could've been playing this sport all your life and this guy was already better than you'll ever be a couple of months in. Not where you are in terms of feel for the sport, knowledge, etc. but his talent vaults him above all that experience anyway. Like if you've ever seen a future pro or high level D1 college athlete playing at a local high school. They look like literal superheros compared to those other kids because they basically are.

I wouldn't go so far as to say you can't train explosiveness, you can to a degree but it is HEAVILY dependent on genetics.

Yeah it’s the one thing I didn’t realize until I started boxing is how much your punches rely on your legs. Some nights I throw 1200-1500 punches. Arms and shoulders are not sore, but my legs are just beat. It’s crazy, but if you’re punching with the correct form that power should be coming from the ground not your arms.

I have to disagree with the explosiveness training. I believe you can improve your explosiveness, however like you said not everyone will get to Tyson explosiveness because of their genetics.

That video of Paul has to be one his worst ones. The huge lead leg move before his jab starts is cringe worthy. Our coach would harass you if you did that, shit the guys we spar with would pick up on that and absolutely punish you if you had that habit. You cannot have that bad of a tell.

Then when he is on the heavy bag those big looping hooks are not good either. Every and their grandma can see those coming from miles aways. I’m a fan of the corkscrew hooks they are fired like a jab but hook at the end. Way faster and harder to counter.

Only reason I can say this is I made those same mistakes:homer:

What i mean is you cant train and take your vertical from 20” to 40”
You might be able to improve an inch or two at most, say you bust your ass for years and get to a 22” and youve got the right moves, experience and timing. The genetic freak will still always come in and hand you your ass with much less training.

You cant make more fast twitch fibers, your born with that ability.

There's a local kid that I grew up with his parents who was playing for the local HS before transferring to a prep school and my dad was like... dude, you gotta see this kid. He's a damn freak. And he is. Like a fucking superhero. The type of athlete that just doesn't make sense. That makes other good athletes realize... well damn, I've just met my match in this one.

That's what Roy Jones Jr. thought too until he realized "Man, I thought we were just here to cash a check and move around a little bit. Crazy old Mike is trying to take my fucking head off in here!"
This is not a legitimate fight in any way shape or form. When was the last time he legitimately fought? Fighting another washed up boxer in an exhibition match isn’t exactly the same as facing a young guy in his prime.

The reality is, the simpletons will eat up this stupidity, pay ridiculous amounts for ppv, Paul will survive the first couple rounds of Tyson’s power shots, Tyson will gas hard and quit around the 5th.

I’ll throw $500 on Paul, you throw $500 on Tyson. Deal?

Just looked at the current fight odds. -500 for Paul.
Even the experts know this is a joke:lmao:

I don't bet shit on things I can't control because I don't delude myself into thinking I know how it's gonna go. I might think it's gonna go a certain way but I fully understand I might be wrong as fuck.

But you’ll be the Mike Tyson nut swinger and tell people that disagree with you to put there money where their mouth is and not do it yourself :lmao:

But this doesn’t take into account the “Manziel” effect.

You can have all the talent in the world. An arm touched by God, but with no work ethic, you’ll never succeed at the modern elite levels.

What does that mean?

We need a gamblers help thread
Paul is -500

You bet $500 you win $100

I believe Tyson is +375

You bet $100, you win $375.

To sum it up, this fight is a joke in the experts eyes and Paul is going to destroy Tyson.

The current odds are most reliable imo.

These numbers will change dramatically right before the fight. What typically happens is the big money flies into Vegas and whoever they’re betting on, drive the odds that direction. Tyson has huge name recognition and the ghetto takes over Vegas during trashy fights like these. They’ll for sure bet on Tyson and make his odds look better.

This is why I’ll wait till 15 minutes before the fight to bet on Paul. His odds will likely be closer to -150 to -250. That’ll give a better payout.

If you believe in Tyson, you throw your bets now.

You're the only one here acting like he knows the future.

500 I drop off, Paul wins I pick up 600

100 I drop off, Tyson wins I pick up 475

Alright, that kind of makes sense.

Is that what 5:1 odds means?

Also, I work with a guy in his early 60’s who has been a weight lifter since 19. 100% Tyson can still be that fast.

The dude I work with can still do high rep squat work outs with 350lbs. on the bar. I’m talking like 10 reps. With 450lbs. I think he’s doing like 4-6 reps.

So a guy who has probably continued his boxing for the last 30 years is definitely able to maintain speed and strength. If he gets hit he’s going to feel a little longer, but still dangerous.

I know nothing about sports betting. Does -500 mean he's gonna win? Gonna lose? :homer::confused:

EDIT: nevermind it was explained later.
