I wish this was closer. I'd like to convert my extended cab to crew cab.

I've been thinking about getting a few 80-97 standard cabs to replace mine, as all of mine pretty much completely lack floors

How hard would a 99-04 Superduty swap be? I know they didn't change much if anything of the floorpan, frame, body mounts, etc for the 1st gen.

If you're gonna do all that work might as well get a nice new and quiet cab with good seats and a slightly less methy overall appearance out of the deal.

I always like the idea of going back to the old body style and have bought a few. But every time I am reminded of how much worse they are for road noise and overall comfort.

title says 94 ford, plates say 94 ford, frame vin says 94 ford (if it even still exists, rust) cab will be 94 ford
because cops can't read and tax collectors will shoot you before they'll engage reason

For someone who doesn't respect the state you sure do incur a lot of cost going out of your way to follow their rules.

Stick the title to the new cab in the glove box along with a picture of the cab swap in progress and the vin plate from the '94. Should be enough to satisfy the typical fishing expedition, especially if you give 'em the ol "well I tried to register the new cab but the DMV lady wouldn't let me because I made the mistake of telling them it was on a different frame" sob story.

Sorry boomer, I can't stop bullets with a firm handshake and a look in the eye.

You need to invest at least a little in your people skills. I'm not saying you need to become one of the swindler shitbag types who has no skills but covers for it with a bunch of smooth talking but a little investment so that skill isn't at level 0 would help you out in the same way that mechanically skilled people benefit a ton from having computer skills that are anything other than zero. Being able to make a good impression on agents of the state goes a long way toward getting hassled less.

1968 Sears Suburban 12 (Prod. 1966-1971). '69 was a different front and dash panel.

1968 Sears Custom 10XL (Prod. 1968- 1972) is different. Different frame, mostly, most body panels, engine, transmission.

Could make for a fun toy if the price were right.

I'm complete shit at being anything but the entirely transparent fountain of direct honesty that I've always been.

Might be some 'tism or whatever, but the description of that always seems to include a sociopathic component which is basically the entire opposite.
