06h3 2big bronco and SLOWPOKE693 come to mind. I know the 2nd 2 guys love them enough to have bought multiple sets.

I'm tempted to give them a try also. The 42 radials just gets too slim pickings, the mtr's and the x comps now are back ordered, pit bull stopped making the rockers. Other than irok 41, I'm stuck with 20s.

Although the original Patagonias are down to $365ea for a 40, which is hard to pass up. The mt 02s are only ~$40 more also.

I'm on set #3 and love the shit out of those tires. :smokin:

Last set I got came from from Simple Tire but if you Google them you may find better deals elsewhere.

Comparing the STT Pro to others in its class (DOT radial tires) I think the tire hooks up very well and was never dissatisfied in its traction.

Sidewall: I killed 2 sidewalls, with that said, I have killed a sidewall on every tire I have run except the Mickey Baja Pro XS (so far.) My rig is heavy and I put it in places it doesn’t belong so my rig has a history of killing sidewalls. So I’ll let you make that determination on your own. Compared to others in the 40in class I’d say it’s still better then the Patagonia sidewall, probably on par with the BFG, Yokohama, etc. I’d say it’s probably in that realm of typical MT toughness. Maybe the tire in that category that has the best sidewall strength is the nitto? I can’t say for sure but figured I’d mention it. I always thought it was until I found out they run liners at KOH so now I don’t know.

Snow: I have been happy with them in the snow and many others say they kick ass in the snow compared to other DOT MTs.

Streetability: it’s a very streetable MT. I had 2 ultimate adventures on them, I had close to 20k miles on them with 2000 mile road trips to the hammers. So if you do street at all I think they are a great all around tire for grip off road while not being unbearable on the street like my mickeys are now.

Overall, good solid tire. If you have a history of killing sidewalls be aware of it. If not, then your probably good.

My rig does run on the street too. If i had the coin Id do a set of Treps , but it aint happenin @ 1100.00 or so each
these seem like a solid option, I could go 42 " but tire choice is limited.

My wife daily drives the Jeep and has no complaints about their street manners and she tools down the highway at 75-80mph twice a day.

Had them in 40s on my jk, @jeff555 still has them on it... and I liked them so much I bought 37s for my bronco and samurai. My favorite tire by far I have ever ran, unballanced at 80 with no problems.

Fwiw, if I'm. Spending $1500+ on tires to purposely take offroad and abuse, I'm going to pay for the warranty. Discount tire and 4wp are the only ones that I know of with a full replacement. Although I've heard that 4wp recently got bought out and is not honoring old warranties?

If you can find 5 tires for less than 4 tires and a warranty, maybe the risk is worth it though.

I'm really, really happy with the 37 stt's on my trail rig. They fuckin' hook.

I don't mention that much because I work there and it just seems like I'm spewing company bullshit. Also, my last set were bias PBR and duh... anything is going to seem amazing after that.

Measuring more than 34.7" tall probably helped also

The trep cost is out of control. I think red labels are cheaper now which is mind boggling.

Any opinions on the Razr MT ? looks like a 40x 17 can be had for 450 ea

I had them in 35s put about 10k km on them wore great, good offroad. Wore well on road. Know a few others with them in 37s.

Know a few other guys now running the Nexen MTs they are like a load F rating though.

I have a set of 33's on my Fj40 that sees heavy trails and street. Had a set of 40's on my 4500 car that worked great. Just installed a set of 35's on a customers car and they ride great on the road. I like them and have installed several sets. If looking for an all terrain check out there 811 at.

I don't know anyone that's tried them yet. It's basically an stt with slightly milder, more road/ western rock/ friendly tread pattern. Saw some mounted at the lab a while back, kinda forgot about them.

I just tried some Google for extra info... "all of Cooper's light truck tires are made in Bedingadong, China..." go fuck yourself google. You don't know shit. :shaking:

Just bought some 285/75/17 Toyo open country RT trail for my Duramax. I don't consider them cheap, but I'll try to review them later.

Anybody have any serious trail time with the Kenda klever Rt's? Every review i find is mostly on road performance. Seems like a decent mild mannered hybrid tire for a decent price.

Anything Scout has been hawking them as they are sponsored by them. They've got some vids of them soft roading. I've never seen them anywhere else.

I have the 35x10.50s on my 4runner. Is a daily driver that is locked f&r and sees some rock trails and lots of snow. I have been very happy with them. I air them down to 3 psi for snow and have had guys on 36-42s scratching their head at how I'm keeping up or passing them

Haven't done too much rocks, but they seem good.

As far as wear, I'm not the guy to ask. I sometimes will only air up to 10-15 psi after a snow run, get lazy and run them for a bit like that. I also have no idea what miles they have on them. I will say for a years worth of use, they look basically new.

Really great tire for something that sees actual offroad, but also needs to drive nice on the highway. Especially for the price.
