What's new

I am flummoxed

You could just drive the Conquest and maintain it. Probably a couple extra nostalgia points doing it that way.

As time goes on a stock car of the era is gonna turn more heads than an LS swap.

Sorry, a bit far along, I got it with no engine or trans... and it will handle.

A fucking crate LS makes more than that :flipoff2:

yes, yes it would, but a built 4g63 would bolt in and wouldn't require re-engineering the entire vehicle
... The time/money saved could then be used to build a better LS for the Camaro

I guess some of you do less projects... I culled 17 of them to get to this point. shortbus4x4 gets it. Still resisting buying more. I still enjoy building them, but not storing, maintaining or waiting for others to do what they said they would.

But some of you also missed the point: which of two bucket list cars do I keep and which do I sell off?

I have enough of an answer. I am building the Conquest. Already have the custom front cross member built, coil overs, knuckles, brakes, etc. It's all basically spare parts, like the brakes, L33 and TR6060. Doing the hot side plumbing in stainless and the cold side in aluminum. The car will be much lighter than OEM intended on 12" wide rear tires and 10" front ones.

Then some of you want to pontificate on things not in scope. It's all hilarious.

Sorry I don't even know what a conquest is, from what I have learned on here it was a favored vehicle of drug dealers
I know nothing about the engine and trans you are talking about

The L33 is GM's 5.3 LS based motor. It'll be nice and light. No idea on the transmission.

Have to admit I had to google it. But I like the earlier Comaro much better than 92’s, so it was an easy choice.

Are you pondering what I am pondering?

Summit makes one heck of a stainless log style manifold, with split feeds to a single turbo...

Just saw starion/conquest yesterday on my way home. Thing was clean as could be. :smokin:

I assume the Conquest is a unibody?

What are your plans to stiffen the body so the windshield doesn't pop out?

Imagine every visual cue that makes you think 1980s sports car and put them all on one car and then delete the T-tops. That's a Conquest.
Don’t forget the terrible Mitsubishi build quality and their old advertisements that listed a 0-50 (not 0-60) time to make it seem competitive.

i have way to many projects myself, i need to thin the herd. but i find myself looking for a new one every day. hell buy my f150 and turn off the traction control for some excitement.
