I'm not even a 80-97 guy in the slightest bit, and it peaked my interest.

1997 F250 7.5L zf6 4x4 supercab short bed XLT. General abuse farm truck, but decent shape.

If the deal goes through and I grow tired of it, pretty easy to unload to a OBS fanatic?

460 extended cab 4x4 short beds are extremely rare from what I was always told .

You sure its a zf6? Should be a 5 if its oe.

My only bitch about it would be the ttb.

Otherwise that truck will scoot and tow.

Yes, 5spd. Had the title right.

Debating on the $5k. Knowing it needs another $1k easy to make right

ZF is the manufacturer of the transmission. It's probably a S5-47, but could be a S5-42. Either way a good 5spd transmission.

As clean as that is, it would fetch decent money here in the salt belt.

I would honestly stack a xf5 460 truck against many modern gassers....I would imagine being able to set your gear, that should work well.

what axle gearing?

Is there a "wake up" injection conversion for 460's?
Likely nothing wrong with it as is I just figured there would be use in some intake/airflow modernizations.

Headers, definitely headers.
The F4 heads flow pretty decent (alot better than the E7s) altho theres always room for improvement. Open up the air intake (by cutting the horns out of the air dam), and then bump the FP a bit. The intake manifold is pretty big IMO altho ive heard of people porting them a little. Add the BBK twin 61mm throttle body. Deck the block to get the compression up (.010 to .020), add some fuel & air, and you can get 350-400HP pretty easily. Thats pretty much what im doing with mine right now.

Reasonably cool... but not as cool as the crew, with a D60 monobeam swap. :smokin:

Pretty sure the 8-lug shortbeds were 96-97 exclusive.

Every excab shorted (that wasn't a 150) I can think of ever seeing was a 7.3/5spd.

Those are good trucks, last of the old school bounce a piece of firewood off the side and it won't cave in like a bus hit it type trucks, but with a few modern amenities like ac.

You had to rent a uhaul trailer for a bike and have cab lights on a SRW. Arguement invalid :flipoff2:
For $15, I'll save myself the trouble of unloading a 700lb motorcycle from 5' off the ground on sheer ice, thank you. :flipoff2:

It might sell quick for 10k, or it might stick around for a while, but will always be a solid truck

Mustang 5.0 computer, flashed, and harness to switch from batch fire to sefi is supposed to make roughly 25% increase in power and economy

I've seen a handful of them with 460s, usually auto

They were, but also there’s a f150 shortbed crew cab with 351 and ttb 5 lug.

That's a centurion job like the 4dr Broncos, I think they're cool, and am tempted to build one

That looks like a really solid truck for $5-6k and has me drooling compared to the 97 regular cab 460/auto truck I'm starting with. It has all the basic things I'd want in a truck without the nanny stuff.

The more I come in here, the more I feel like this would be a fun truck. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment, because I already have a cclb 7.3/5spd. But 4' less wheelbase and a 460, just sounds fun. TTB can suck, but I think some soft leafs or just radius arms plus air bags would be tits with TTB.

When my 7.3 ps started having issues, I really thought about a 7.3 godzilla crate motor. They use the same bell pattern as the mod motors, so I figured I'd find a V10 Zf6 and it would bolt together. Not sure what this has to do with this thread, but big v8s and manuals are fun. :flipoff2:

Mod motor bell can be interchanged with SBF with some work IIRC. Something about dowels vs bolts in certain locations and a couple not lining up. Nobody swaps modulars or late model electronic transmissions into anything and the hot rod guys have plenty of trans options and don't care about the ZF6 so there's never really been a market for swaps but the differences aren't any larger than BOP vs Chevy.
