Homemade Attachments for Forklifts Skidsteers and Other Equipment

I've been thinking I may take a 12K electric winch I have for a tractor implement.

Not a fan of my ebay quick attaches. They have felt bad since day one, now my forks keep falling off.

Have you tightened the nuts to put more tension on the springs?

I've been meaning to see if there are slightly stiffer or taller springs that could be swapped in too.

I don't push mine very hard, but I have seen the handle pop up a little and eventually my bucket will slip off on that side. Might just need to make some type of retainer to keep the handle down.

One side is better then the other. The weekend side, I think the welded something a1/4" off so the pin just doesn't really do anything. Once I move here and have my welder and stuff I'm going to see what I can do

More details on this? Been kicking around the idea of putting my old Warn M8000 back into service on the tractor for log retrieval duties this summer and something like this would be perfect to Mount it to the Deere.
I drag my Kubota out of the mud and winch logs with it. Works good and when cutting trails it's been awesome. I need to order a plug so it's easier to swap out.

As far as the fab, it's plate I burned out on the plasma table, bent up on a brake and welded together.

Yeah, that's not porosity, that's a missed weld. Parts where it looks connected are where the paint is thick and fills the gap.

It could be robot welded. If the parts are not loaded in the jig correctly or the robot is slightly off that will happen. QC should have caught it, but we all know how that works also.

From what I've seen, the companies making tractor attachments don't hire robots. From the looks of a lot of the stuff I've seen, they don't even hire welders.

Depends on the size of the company, tractor attachments can be big business. Welders are hard to find, good welders are even harder to find.

Was it here or the old site where we had a shitshow about whether or not you could drill a fork for a hitch ball without substantially weakening it?

Well CL delivered this gem today.

Located in Manchester CT and a good price if anyone needs some fairly heavy duty forks.

Shit, if that's a good price I need to go snag up the 20+ sets someone is selling here for $60/set

around here they've always bottomed out at a hundred bucks a pair, and that was a decade ago, now they're $150 if you can find a set
