What's new

Got pounded hard in the rear by a BroDozer

I must mention another thing, as much as I dispise them. Contact a good slip and fall lawyer, our last rear ender mom's cousin called the cousin I affectionately call the black sheep since he is a lawyer. We were going to be happy just getting the car fixed instead we walked away with a couple of grand, and all medical bills paid

I don't get it. You were hurt and were going to be happy not being paid for the medical injury, am I reading that right?

There's no reason for him to get a lawyer this early.

If he gets the all clear from doc, then he just needs his property damage taken care of. If they make him an offer that works for him - no need for a lawyer.
If his doc says he has issues, then he goes through treatment and when it's all done he sends the medical to the insurance and listens to what they say. If he doesn't like it, he can then get a lawyer.

Not even sure a lawyer would take his case if he's not hurt to begin with.

I just do not think I am that injured.

I am sure I could get one of the "Wreck into a check" law firms to take this case as it is a no brainier rear end collision.

They would send me to 'their' doctor that would likely have me going for physical therapy weekly.

At the end I would get a check for $10k or so, not worth the hassle.

Now if I find that i am actually hurt that would be a different situation.

As of right now I am just going to take it easy, I had planned on remounting some seats today but I am going to put that off for a bit.

if in a few days or week or whatever if I am having issues I will go a different route.

I feel pretty much the same today.

Dull headache, stiff neck, slightly sore back - pretty much what I would expect from a rear end collision.

Thanks for the concern guys

Get to a Dr stat !! And any lawyer !!

Walking away from an accident is fucken cool but the injuries will come back to haunt you.

At least see a proctologist :flipoff2:

I just do not see what going to the Dr is going to do.

I do not want any pills.

Rest up and get better, that has always been what I do when hurt.

As for impacts it was on the lower scale of ones I have been in, however, I am older and way fatter than I was for any of the previous ones.

For real, if I am having any issues after a few days I will get it checked out.

In the meantime I will take it easy.

why arent you posting pics of at least your truck....?

You need to get this checked out NOW so you have PROOF that you were experiencing this right after the wreck and that it wasn't from something else that you did a week later and are blaming on the wreck.
A trip to urgent care which (if TN insurance law is like NY insurance law) will be completely covered by the medical part of your auto insurance and will get you that proof if this gets worse.
I watched Dad go through something similar in the early 2000s when he was the last vehicle at a stop light and someone saw the light 10 cars up turn green, then plowed into the back of his Volvo 760 doing at least 45MPH.
His back bumper was pushed into the rear wheels.

Work as a Firefighter performing IMVA's and report back.

I'd rather be unharmed and trapped in my tin can with 32 airbags and active restraints than be in a major vehicle accident in a 90's pickup truck.

you're an idiot if you think that some shitbox 90's ford truck is anywhere near as safe as a modern car in an accident.

By the time you figure out you have issues it will probably be too late to collect so you will either pay up or live with it. Good move.

Have... have you ever met a lawyer?

IME, if you have the retainer, they take the case.

What are you talking about retainer for? Got nothing to do with this and nobody has a lawyer on retainer.
What I said stands. You go meet a lawyer and show me one that's willing to take a case that's non injury, without being paid directly up front on it.

It always works the same way, you pay nothing because the lawyer takes his cut at the end. Lawyer won't take it if the end is only property damage.

Oh you meant Contingency. Yeah, lawyers only work contingency on certain cases, marketable large settlement slam-dunks. Literally everyone works on contingency in all circumstances

Come back when you have a clue. They will take a vehicle case no matter what, money is money, down here they get 35-50% of the case. They couldn't care less how small the case is

They're ambulance chasers? Ya don't say...

And anyone with a brain isn't going to give away 30% of their 5k to a lawyer for something that the insurance is willing to pay on a simple property claim.

Dude, what if there were some small tears in your arteries, and then a clot forms and heads up to your brain. Boom, bam, stroke.

I take it you have medical coverage on your insurance? Use it.

Didn't that happen to a PBB memeber? Feeling weird, joked online about having a headache, went to bed and woke up dead?

Crispins, urine idiot. Got a head injury, feeling bad enough to skip working on seats, but "Nah, it'll be fine!".

THIS IS SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT! You should not have to skip or put up with anything. You did not bang your head jumping shit on the back 40- you got smacked by some rando in public, now you're trying to help him out by suffering at home. Would you be making the same idiot excuses if he'd run up and hit you with a 2x4?

I T-boned/side swiped a semi on a highway several years ago on new year's eve. The semi pulled out in front of me in the middle of a blizzard. I didn't feel too bad, over all a little sore. Wreck didn't look THAT bad:

My lower back didn't feel the same, so I went to my regular doctor the next day they were open. I am sure glad I did. It turns out that during the course of the accident, my kidneys got bruised/damaged and I was peeing blood (not enough to be visible, but definitely a significant amount). I also recieved shoulder damage. After a couple ultrasounds, a couple CT scans, a few injections, and several months of physical therapy, I am more or less back to normal. I don't pee blood anymore and my shoulder only hurts about 10% of the time vs 100% of the time. I didn't actually feel that bad until a week or so after the accident, FYI. Then it hit like a ton of bricks.

Go get checked out. It may be nothing, or it may be medical issues and thousands and thousands of dollars of medical bills. My car insurance paid for all of it and was reimbursed by the semi driver's insurance nearly a year later after the two insurance companies fought it out in court. Don't wait or it will get harder and harder to get it paid. Your wreck sounds a lot more cut and dry, so you should be able to get a claim number from bro-dozer insurance and get checked out.

At the very least, they can pay for a checkup with your regular doctor so you can ensure a clean bill of health. Hope you get to feeling better!

For anyone other than the OP we could say he’s acting irrationally because he’s concussed.... but ol crispy has a well established history over many years of regularly posting threads, the board responds unanimously with the obvious logical advice, and he will then ignore it and even do almost exactly the opposite of the intelligent move... 🙄

All these people talking about how they nearly died in a fender bender need to tell us how old they were and how much they weighed at the time of these accidents.

23yo, 185#, 5'10".

Riding passenger in my buddy's '64 Mustang around 1994, some asshat turned hard left from the right lane. We t-boned him at 45mph. Girlfriend on my lap shoved her face into the dash, and was picking radio pieces out for a couple years. I smashed my face on her back and got what I assume is some vertebral damage, because my neck still twinges 25 years later. If I sleep on it funny, I can't turn it past 45* for a couple days. I took a $1400 payout and bought guns.

It's not an issue of "nearly died", it's an issue of permanent lifelong damage that is NOT YOUR FAULT. Play stupid games win stupid prizes, but if it's someone else's game, THEY need the prize, not you.

This. I was 27 and 180# and in great health. Still beat me up pretty bad for something seemingly minor and will have lifelong issues that were no fault of my own.

Ive walked away from every auto/motorcycle wreck Ive ever been in. Laid down 2 motorcycles, rolled an F250 and rear ended an illegal in a mustang who was stopped at 60mph. I've refused medical treatment every time.

But if someone rear ends me hard enough that Im hurting or have a headache, Im getting checled out.

I was 25 and 160# when I T Boned some lady that ran a stop sign.
Like I posted earlier I get have near constant neck pain now, and get killer headaches.

I will go to a doctor tomorrow.

You guys have made a good point, I will get it checked out.

Good... you won't regret it. Worst thing that happens is he (or she if you're lucky) looks you over and says "Take two asprins and call me if it gets worse..."
