I need to fit a lot in a small 2 car garage. Any of you have nicely packed/organized garages?

I’m looking for ideas from bench space to hanging bikes, toys, etc. wall mount systems, etc,

I have cabinets on one side with my tool box and workbench, metal shelving from Home Depot on the other side, a wooden shelf system I built located on the wall in front of the cars, and one of those ceiling shelving units. I’ll get some photos later if I can get the jeep out. Shit still goes everywhere, and you have to put lots of energy into keeping it organized.
2 car garage too small to fit my crew Cab GMC 2500 without leaving the garage door open.

Edit: you can see the workbench in the background. Behind the jeep is another workbench from the toolbox to the garage door and the cabinet up high.
Toolbox is 44” wide. Back left corner hidden from view is the welder, engine hoist, and some creepers.
You can see the 2x4 (barely) for the wooden racking.

Workbench hidden from view. This is the tie rod for a Dana 60.

Fuck lol. I was going to say the secret to an organized shop, is to get a shed. Looks like that's been addressed.

Surprised you fled commie NY only to end up in a HOA.

Yeah, we had non HOA options of course but this place works for now. I have my never ending project farmette in NY. With a second house I wanted simple with less to manage.

Worse case us country folk can’t adjust and we have to move locally but at least we got out.

Not having room for more shit will be good for me.

Put anything you can, and often use on the wall, and skim to the wall cabinet storage that you can use as a work surface too. Put some stuff on wheels. Light items high, heavy low. I have a shed though. And put the things you use where you'll be using them.

My stuff could be spread out more, but I've crammed it to one end to make room for future machine tools. Use the unique places in the space to your advantage. No dead space etc. I have about 13×30something and this is all packed into 13×13. You can do it.
Edit: I work best in small spaces cause I can find and reach everything.

Ahh the memories. This was 10+yrs ago.

Get everything you can off the floor. I also had one of the crappy little metal Sears sheds in the backyard that helped alot. Compressor is in a closet. Air hose reel and extension cord reel will make life 10x better. Get decent ones. Made a combo workbench toolbox cart on castors with a vise, doing a welding project I'd take the top box off.

I'll see if I can dig up pictures but in my basement, I used 'industrial' pallet racks that are 2' deep, 7' tall(short basement) and 8' wide. I put 1" thick plywood on the "middle" shelf for a bench.

I've got a lot of heavy stuff on the shelves so generic Homedepot wire racks weren't appropriate. I forget the price but I want to say they were ~$200 a section(subtract ~$60 for a side support if connecting for a long run)

A mobile welding table/workbench is a great idea. This big bastard came with the job so I mounted a couple vices to it's 1 1/8" thick ass and next will be a mount for the chop saw off one end flush with the surface so I don't have to balance long material.

Also with small amounts of floor space and lots of shit I'd be doing shelving too. Kick them off one wall coming off long ways so you can fit a few of them in a smaller area and use the rest of the floor for activities.

Homeless despot has these, the smaller unit isn't nearly as nice as the bigger ones but they're light-years better than short benches and wasted space like I had before.

Hahaha sure, how much you willing to pay?
I'll poney up cash if you want to stop in Illinois. Every spring I pile all my loose stuff in the middle and plan on putting it back perfectly organized. A few beers in and it ends up basically back where it started minus all the garbage I didn't know I had
