Garage Organized? Pics

My stuff could be spread out more, but I've crammed it to one end to make room for future machine tools. Use the unique places in the space to your advantage. No dead space etc. I have about 13×30something and this is all packed into 13×13. You can do it.
Edit: I work best in small spaces cause I can find and reach everything.

For me, air compressors take up too much floor space, I'm getting rid of mine and goining with a CO2 tank since I almost never use my air tools anymore.

I'll poney up cash if you want to stop in Illinois. Every spring I pile all my loose stuff in the middle and plan on putting it back perfectly organized. A few beers in and it ends up basically back where it started minus all the garbage I didn't know I had

Pay? It's work experience, you should be paying me, like a trade school. You seem like a nice guy though, so I'll let you do it for free.

You can even video it, "Someguys save my garage"

LoL maybe someday if my channel was big enough that might be viable, but sure as shit isn't when the video wouldn't even cover the gas for me to drive to the airport. Was a bit of a joke, at this point, for it to be worth my time to travel to do it, we'd be talking $20k or some stupid shit :D

I lucked out, had a weird closet in the garage that housed the hvac unit... was cramped and oddly shaped with ductwork so it wasn't really useful for anything while having about a 3x5 open spot. It held my big upright compressor perfect, and the walls and back of door got like 3 layers of scrap carpet so you couldn't hear it run inside the house.

Ran hose through the ceiling and back down into reel at the front of the garage.

I'm not having a compressor taking up usable room in a work area. If I still l8ved in town and were using a 2 car for a shop, I'd build a really clean nice looking closet off the back wall of garage. (this may not be possible depending on layout of course)

Yeah the floor space and the noise. My first compressor was one of those $250 Sears oilless POS, and that fucker was so loud that when it would kick on, I'd close the garage door and go inside to have a beer. Now I have a two stage and it's better but still loud. I can't do the outbuilding thing, one wall is front walkway, one wall is the circle drive, one wall is the rollup doors and one wall is common to the house.

Mine is the heart of the shop. They'll go up the wall if I ever need them to.

I have modular shelving across the back wall of mine (like the shelves at Walmart that hold canned goods). It all has peg board, and has shelves across it in 3 places. I like it because it doesn't take up much space, was 30 bucks, and the shelves are adjustable in height if I want to move them

It'd get expensive running my sandblaster on CO2.

Some day I'll pour a pad and build a little lean-to on the back of the shop to get mine out of the corner. But it's far from the biggest space waster I have. :shaking:

I have a ZT mower, 36v golf cart, SXS, rock crawler, pair of kids ATV's, 2 trailers, tow rig, beater car, wife's ride and a tractor. Forget about the tools... im always putting air in a tire.

Another option I've thought of for the suburbs folks using a garage... if you're non-HOA and can have a storage shed in the backyard... sticking it out there and burying some pex.

Sadly doesn't look like this now, I've got shit on every horizontal surface. I need a solid weekend to start over.
I lucked out with the current shop... it has a full bathroom with area for washer and dryer. I've got the compressor in that spot and nearly boxed in with some old home made studio panels that are just stone wool batting. With the bathroom door shut I can barely hear it kick on. Even with the stereo turned down to conversation volume it all but disappears.

I had big plans to do the same until I heard this one run lol. It's the quietest I've ever heard. It's 4' from my main bench.

The other side

I need to clean up. Haven’t made time to do that.

I have no shed. I have some shelves outside for a few things. I also have a set of 35s on the side of the house too. It all has a home and probably twice a year it all gets very organized so I can make a mess again.

There is a retractable extension cord above the jeep. I have a small pancake air compressor and because of that I went electric for tools.

Timing of this thread :homer:

I have a 14x22ish garage that isn’t enough. I’m currently reorganizing all my tools. I’ve moved as much crap that I don’t use or care if it gets stolen out to the shed. I have a nice cabinet above the washer and dryer that stores misc household crap. Craftsmen toolbox houses most of the tools and a metal rack houses the rest. Water heater in the corner. Air compressor next to that. All my garden tools hanging on the wall. Generator in a corner. I can’t hang shelves right now since I pull the jeep top off often. The Polaris sits in the garage. The Jeep outside under the covered area. The full tube chassis for a later project on a concrete slab in the back yard. I’ll get some pics later once I finish reorganizing my tools. I still need to move in my 60 gun liberty safe. :homer::laughing:

For now I gave up until I find space / build another storage shed in the backyard.

Standard two car garage with 8' ceiling. Inside of it are fun car, motorcycle, ATV. Rest is filled with tools/wood stash/two work benches, cabinets and everything in between.

Plan is to take everything out, patch and paint the walls, get it to my liking and cut down on clutter. Likely a couple years down the road, not a priority for now.

To the left of the car in the pic is a wall (has shelving two up holding lubricants etc.).

In front of the car is garage door.

To the right is bike, ATV, and my main work bench.

Also a larger work table with a vise/bench grinder and corner cabinets in the back towards the window.

Perfect timing because I’m looking for ideas too.

I’m still organizing our garage and putting things away from moving about 18 months ago. The garage is 22x44 with a 11’ ceiling. I also have a 10x22 leanto/shed attached to the back. The shed gets all the lawn tools, folding chairs and tables, garbage/recycling cans, table saw, chain saw, etc.

We don’t have a very usable basement so my safes and freezers have to go in the garage. That takes up a lot of space. Two gun safes, small chest freezer, big upright freezer, and garage fridge. That’s +/-15’ of wall space ate up.

I have 3 floor cabinets, two HF 30” 4-drawer carts, and shelving. I bought heavy duty metal shelf brackets and picked up some plastic shipping totes at an auction so I could have high shelves on each side wall and stash totes full of shit on them.

It’s still a work in progress but I’m finally getting close to having everything sorted out and put away, and able to find what I need when working on something.

We also like to keep some space open for when people come over to hang out and have a few beers. In the winter the Mrs and I park our DD vehicles in there so we don’t have to scrape ice and snow (I keep it between 52-58 degrees all winter) plus the sxs. In the summer we park outside and keep the sxs and golf cart in there.

I also have a storage unit for the snowmobiles in the summer and the golf cart and dirt bike in the winter. Plus some other shit like old pedal cars and whatnot.

If I had another 2-3 car garage life would be a lot easier.

This video is from the front of the wife’s Edge.

Following. I really need time to do some work in my garage.
Same.
45 and poboy got it going on. Hope to try and make mine look half as good.

Step 1: Spring cleaning and garage sale.
Step 2: CHEAP retractable ceiling mounted air hose?

No one has anything from NewAge products? I’ve been considering them for my garage for the past couple years, and am almost decided on a layout that will work for my 2-car garage. I’d love to see any setups using that…

I seem to always put the air compressor in the attic with a hose real

I'm thinking about using their stuff for my basement workshop/office when I finish the basement...I prefer building my own storage most of the time but since this room will be an office too, I want it a bit cleaner. Just getting started on the basement now, so I'm probably a year or more from getting cabinetry. I'm not in a rush to finish it, so will pick away at it over the next year.

I need a bigger garage. This is some BS. I should just come to terms I won’t fit two vehicles in here and get a fab table and welder. Safe will tentatively go where the black toolbox is.

Not allowed. HOA
Rent a storage space in one of those self storage places for all your misc crap, give it away, sell it in FB MP or CL or move out of the HOA. :homer:

Half of my 2 car garage after cleaning last weekend. It's back full of empty boxes and garbage I have to take to the dump Monday.

I couldn’t go without a decent sized air compressor and I don’t fab as much as I used too. I have my Curtis 5HP 80 gallon compressor in my shop in my basement. I have a buried 1” ID blue pex line running from my basement to my shop 150’ away. Plus I have it plumbed up to my 2 car garage as well. I have it in my basement for a climate controlled atmosphere. I have a DeWalt portable air compressor too that works good for my nailers and that. I may sell it once my home remodeling is done.
