You throw some bird food and extra bolts in there?

Worth $500.00 to who ?

The input shaft and connecting gear are trashed like wiped clear of all teeth.

Still worth 500.00 ?

So wait. You paid $50 for nv4500 and you were gona take it back because you thought it was the wrong one!?

Even if its trash its worth $500/core.

Dollars for dimes,

If its the correct year I have a use for the case so no sale.

Not gonna sell something that puts completion of a project closer to being finished.

And the info at the pirate4x4 link is at least partly incorrect from my research:

The 1995 4500 is said to have the early bellhousing pattern and bearing retainer from those I've spoken with at quad4x4 in Montana and other aspects like its said to have the late ratio, as well as something about the reverse idler.

Yep its a 1995 so just stripping it of its internals.

Its almost like you got told exactly that repeatedly.

Its worth $500 as a core to anyone that wants to buy one knowing it will need to be re/built. You know for when guys want to build some half breed abomonation thats impossible to ever get parts for again........

I nor anyone else was telling you to sell it goober. I was saying that you only paid $50 for it and laughing at you for wanting to return it because you thought it was wrong.

Getting told that without a logical reason how does not instill confidence.

Notice I gathered info to tell me it was a 1995 from the top cover tag and yes used online documentation as well.

Post #4, without even seeing it i was able to tell you it was a 95.

Post #11 i gave you 4 reasons why it was a 95.

Mean while you wandered off on some crosseyed tangent about it being a nv3500, which no one said.

Good thing you went and edits your posts.

I was skeptical about if it was the right year, Think about it, what are the chances with my luck that I goto a local transmission shop and ask about such a thing and oh yeah we have a 4500 and its the correct year that I'm looking for without my even telling the shop guy ?

My crosseyed tangent was chemically induced, when this guy said what he did below I thought he was taking about the transmission not the truck it came from, as partly why I've seen transmissions of this vintage called HD.

Just saw your pic.

That’s a C3500 HD like mine. Longer than a normal 2wd, and originally had a parking brake on the back.

Yeah because it has the hd only ebrake tail housing.

So i was right, again.

Id say your odds were........

1:3 because theres 3 basic versions of the 4500 92-94, 95, and 96+

1:15 because the nv4500 spans 15 years 92-07

I dont have the production #s for the trans by year but some ratio of that.

Ialso find it hilarious youre doing all this do get a low 1rst gear nv4500 while not underatanding why the dude with the t10 wants to swap it out for a trans with a low first gear.

That's not the reason I couldn't care less what gear ratio I end up with, It will be the ratio from the gears I swap into it, the late gears from my original 4500 what several manual transmission shops say.

I didnt catch the bit about the guy with the T10, wasnt paying attention to that.

Then wtf.

You said you had all your clutch/bellhousing shit figured out.

You last post before this was wanting to 6.34 a big input so you could have lowest gear and this is what was said to do that

I do but still need to spend additional $$$ to get the bellhousing I want, just a matter of time.

Yes I will be using the 1.250x10 input shaft, pretty sure its a 22 tooth, pretty sure its a 5.60 or there abouts first gear, so thats the only thing about ratio I can remember.

The reason for using the 1995 is as its a early bellhousing bolt pattern and it also uses the smaller transmission pilot and smaller bearing retainer pilot.

Then wtf.

You said you had all your clutch/bellhousing shit figured out.

You last post before this was wanting to 6.34 a big input so you could have lowest gear and this is what was said to do that

No, I DO have my bellhousing and fork, master, slave shit figured out and have most of all of it and am going to use this early housing, as the ratio split is at 1994 / 1996 but 1995 uses the same ratio as 1996 and uses the early bearing retainer and bellhousing bolt pattern, so I get what I need to make my nv4500 work with external slave and with my 1.250x10 input shaft.

The worn out input (1.125x10 22 tooth) that I posted the pic of has the same tooth count as my 1.250x10 22 tooth input, that makes me think this 1995 transmission is the later gear ratio.

So you dont have your bellhousing and fork shit figured and you want to use a early housing.

Ok have the bolts off the two rear retainers but need to know how to get this shaft sleeve off thats impedes the gear from coming off.
