Fishing buddies "massacred" in BFE

So if you call 911 help will be there in 20 minutes. Is whoever that answers when you call your farm going to have the equipment and knowledge of an emt crew? This guy called his dad who we are told took 10 minutes to get there and I am a bit skeptical of that. Now What? Unless his dad is an emt with an ambulance how does that help anything? Even if his dad had his cell phone with him you just lost at least 10 minutes. What if his dad was in the shower when he called or in the middle of banging his wife? If you need an ambulance call 911 or roll the dice.

Country thinking. Around here, a small city/rural county, it an take 45 minutes for an amberlamps to show up. Out in the county, it can take over an hour. All our services are volunteer and while an EMT may show up in the first 1/2 hour, the amberlamps can take a lot longer. The volunteers have to go from wherever they are in the city or county, drive to the station, wait for another member to show up. Sometimes you get a situation where some are cleared to drive, others are not, and have to wait for a driver. The local hospital is 20 minutes away from my house. I can easily get there long before the ambulance even leaves the station. Back/neck injuries or non-life threatening, sure, wait on the EMTs. Bleed out, heart attack or something life or death, yeah, I am risking a run to the ER rather than let someone die waiting.

I have to say something's fishy. Happend right down the road from my inlaws. Lots of cartel stuff in them parts.

Just off the top top of my head tinfoil. Bad drug deal. Son is shot, but doesn't know how bad. Calls dad and tells him to get there first to collect drugs/money. (Who wants to wake up in the hospital handcuffed to the bed) Father is no idiot, he has to hide the money/drugs before calling authorities.

Next thought. His son may or may not have been alive when he got there. If he suspected who did it, but there was no proof, he could tell authorities his son told him. (Does a dying mans last words still count for anything?) How about "hear say" last words?

No link and I saw nothing in any of the posts here but someone in the comments section on fox where I saw this story said all 3 had rap sheets from hell. Meth, domestic violence......young career criminals

It's pretty easy to look up criminal records online, county clerk of court websites are helpful. Polk county has a good one. https://pro.polkcountyclerk.net/PRO/...h/PublicSearch

Going back about 10 years it looks like grand theft, burglary, agg. battery, battery against a pregnant person, domestic violence, shooting at a dwelling, possession of meth, dealing stolen goods blah blah blah.

I’m a FL native and never heard a peep about cartel activity here. Admittedly not in Polk county, but most of the rural drug stuff is small time meth labs with some small town POS that thinks they are a “big deal”.

I lived in TX for a couple years and was VERY aware of the cartel activity, drug trafficking rings, 1% motorcycle clubs, etc. Gulf, Zetas, Sinaloa, Bandidos, Hell’s Angels. If it was all that prevalent around here I’d have heard a bit more. Not saying the cartel doesn’t sell a ton of stuff in Palm Beach/Miami, but there aren’t shootouts.

If you google “Florida drug cartel” you get stuff about drug treatment programs, running cocaine in Miami in the 70’s, and this article which is recent and from an Ocala newspaper, but entirely about other states...

At my house, cops and ambulance is 30 to 40 min. Fiancés dad is 10 min away if he drives the speed limit. He’s made it in 6 min when he thought his daughter was in danger. My chick calls her dad first, 911 second. That’s our rural life though. Never lived in a city so not sure what that’d be like.

which mexican cartel runs strong in them parts?

Sorry, not my expertise.

The area in question has a high population of Mexicans. Higher than you would expect from a non-border town. Not sure why that is. Of course just because their Mexican doesn't mean their cartel. I think any cartel activity now is just leftover from the old days when drugs were flown in. (I don't think that occurs much anymore)

As far as this incedent, it doesn't take much of a drug deal to get three people killed. So it really doesn't need to be a cartel "hit".

From the article:

Describing the “quiet, quaint” community surrounded by groves, forest and cattle ranches, Judd said the scene area was “about as far out in the woods as you can get.”

There's Mexicans there because agriculture. Cartel amigos will look like the average Jose and can still get plenty done in a sleepy little town. There are multiple ports and a lot of coastline within a couple hours drive. A quiet community with lots of buildings (barns) large enough to hide a conex and break down shipments and build trap cars would be an ideal spot.

My guess is they pissed someone off in a bad deal. The beatings make it seem more personal than if they just stumbled onto someone else's activity and were eliminated as witnesses.

You brought up the cartel, dipshit. And you don't know why there's so many beaners? Who do you think is picking all the citrus?

Sheriff Grady doesn't seem to think it's a bad drug deal. Also said the kid's phone wasn't easily found at the crime scene which could explain why the dad didn't use it to call police.

No way the dad made the phone not easy to find huh? Wonder if there's prints on it, who's, or was it wiped clean?

Not a big fan of the sherrif making it sound like Opie and his friends were just fishing in Mayberry when credible info already shows the boys had extensive criminal records and that place has a hearty drug environment. Dad's story and actions doesn't add up and the family/girlfriend interview was full on cringe.

Who tha fuck orders 10 double cheeseburgers from McDonalds

beating and killing 3 people while on a K2/meth cocktail is hungry work.

damn, people are messed up.

but one thing the article i saw said was something about a stolen engine from a truck? did the victims know the killers?
