What's new

FFF friday nlc

Out. First NHRA race for me.

Doesn’t hurt its 70 degrees here after a month of too much heat.

Hooooooly shit I expected thunder but nothing like this.

Went with a group that’s been here 20 years in a row. Seats were amazing.

I think my fillings all rattled out.

I went twice in the 90's, very loud and very cool.

Checking in.

Work was long this week, I’m glad it’s over.

I got off work at 1400 and ran to town for a few things I want to do this weekend (projects). I started the evening with a couple margaritas. Dinner was ribeyes, baked potatoes, and salad :homer:

I’ll probably switch over to rum soon. I think we’re going to watch the Olympics. GO TEAM USA!! :usa:

One of dad's clients was the tow company for the track back in the Sears Point days and we'd get tickets and pit passes to everything. This was before all the groups traveled with their own safety crews. I took my now wife when the cars were making around 3k HP. She lasted about 2 runs of top fuel and was literally sick from the shaking, noise and smell. We were at track level. We ended up leaving.

Got in from work and went to the house. Power company started getting the lines and poles in. I started filling in the carport area. I have a lot of concrete chunks and broken block I will use.

I'm trying to save money and not use alot of gravel.

In,

I convinced the boss that it was time to go home and he started swapping the cars around in his toy box as I walked out to the picture below. The urge to hop in the running R8 was very strong, it was left out in the cold, alone. He gave me a look that said. “You drive it, you’re fired” :lmao:. Picked up dinner and went over to check on the grandparents new house. Grandad stopped by and tried to convince me to buy some of his junk.

You need a new boss it’s insured who cares, r8s aren’t that expensive.

In. Currently sorting out the never ending pallet pile I get from work

And after

Normal bs, had the demo guys rip out the kitchen and dining room today. Wife still hasn’t picked out cabinets she likes hopefully this will expedite the situation. Driving up to shitcago to pick up a 48 inch subzero, hopefully I don’t get shanked.

In

Just finished the taco 3.4l timing belt and ran it around the mountain.

Crank bolt is only as tight as I could get it with a 1/2" ratchet under the truck in 4hi/5th gear with ebrake on.

Nuns are dying

drinking beer later
Next time get yourself some chain vice grips, take a piece of the old belt and wrap around crank pulley so as to not damage the grooves.
Brace against the frame/somewhere and let the torque wrench eat.

Posted this in the other FNLC thread:

Visited with a good friend, we had a lunch.
After that spent some time at my parents.

Played the game of Tetris in the garage after.
Maybe room for one more bike:grinpimp:

If one of your parents died would.you expect your family on that side to reach out to you the day of or sometime after?

I think his reservations are extremely justified. I’m pretty hard on cars and he’s very particular. It’s only a cheap v8 stick car too.

The only problem is that he can’t drive them well. Like not at all. When he had a 991.2. I beat him with his 997.2 and his mini-cooper. :lmao:

Now that is sad!
I have not always gotten along with my sister but we always stayed in touch.
My sister last spoke to me Christmas eve 2016 when I was trying not to die. I was 113lbs and unable to eat.

I needed a feeding tube, but my Dr was an idiot so my pain Dr told my mother I shouldn't be left alone being so weak. She took to me to my grandmother's house to 'help' me.

Sister was not happy I was at my grandmothers on Christmas eve for the first time in many years. She wouldn't speak to me that night or ever again.

She did text me to let me know my grandmother died a couple of years ago.

Since our brother died in 2022 and mom last year my sisters attitude towards me has changed. Mind you I do watch what I say because I know the least little thing like telling her I think her oldest son's kids are brats would make me persna nongrata Again! To say I keep my face time with her as short as I can....

I'm sorry you lost your brother.

Right now I am at a stand still living in my 5th wheel trying to find away around all the regulations fom the state and county on . I wanted to buy a shed and turn it into a house, I would have to get "house engineered drawings" to do that, according to the state guy I would be looking at 10 grand for that, the only option left would be to buy another mobile home, and I swore I would ever live in another one of those.
I was looking to buy my grandparent's place but my uncle put that out of finiacle reach unless I cash in the 401 that I have been saving for emergencys. Right now I'm waiting for mom's will to probate, before I make any real decisons.

This group of assholes has been really helpfull in keeping me grounded and as sane as I can be

With all the fucking regulation there is these days... living in a camper doesn't seem bad at all

put up one of them tarp sheds to keep the sun off it and you're golden

I can only live on my property for 9 months in an RV because it isn't an RV park.
They had a problem with an area that was sold off in quarter acre lots cheap, being outside of Alb people drug anything out to live there turned it into a real dump. one of the things that came out of it ou can't subdevide under 40 acres. Since I will have 80, I can sell 1/2 and live on the other. Right now half is being used by a guy running Highland cattle, because I have city water.

how long between 9mo stints?

subdivide your 80 into two 40s
switch between them every 9mo, while renting out to someone running cattle on (I was gonna say the other, but hell, make money off of both)

From what it sounds like, it’s not 9 month stents, but 9 months total per annum.
