Fell Off A Fvcking Ladder This Evening

Damn sorry man. How far of a fall?

Last one I fell off of was probably 10', luckily I was able to land mostly on my feet.

About 8’. I was on back and arm was under me. In shock and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t feel arm or get up. Luckily SxS was close and I was able to drive to house. Called ambulance and had to get dogs in house so they could help me. That was fun… Came this close to passing out

Mid 40’s. Old enough to know better than to be on GD ladder on uneven ground by myself
I have a older customer that fell off of a hay stack and hit his head. His wife found him three hours later out cold and bleeding from his nose and ear. He is now deaf in one ear, shakes badly and has a stutter.

You got lucky even if it doesn't seem like it.

Damn, sorry to hear dude. Expect your arm to swell like a son of a bitch and turn every color under the rainbow over the next few weeks. Ice, ice, and more ice!

Ate shit snow skiing back in 2013 and broke off a piece of my capitellum in my elbow. No surgery, just rocked a sling for months. Thank god it was my left arm :flipoff2: Still hurts occasionally.

And just to throw this out there to maybe make you feel a bit better…my brother in law was at the ASU game a few weeks back with his pregnant wife. Hes just shy of 30 and thought he could parkour some 11 stair sets leaving the game. Fractured his heel in 3 places on his last jump and will have many screws and a plate placed in surgery this week. Right foot so can’t drive for months with a baby due in January. He went full retard on “4 beers” but is in good spirits

Snapped my left arm. Broke the humerus.
Snapped and cracked the Humeral Head in a mtb wreck on a solo night ride years ago. Shot me up with the stuff that killed Michael Jackson and let it slide back into place in the ER. Lots and lots and lots of PT. Never exactly right since then though.

That sucks. I've gotten very careful when I'm working at heights. I handle the falling fine, it's the sudden stop at the end that as I've gotten older that I can't handle. Used to bounce right back up when I fell, now I just go splat and lay there hoping someone saw me and will come help.

I live in the middle of nowhere. Couldn’t get ahold of wife, nearest neighbor, etc. didn’t know what else to do. Arm was flopping around. Can’t wait to pay that bill

Next time stumble out to the road and tell the paramedic`s you were hit by a car, then later just give them a fake social security number.

Cost me $1900. for a 75 mile ride last year when I got burned

Excellent post.

Lucky, even if doesn't feel like it. You did get lucky.
The dice are always rolling and when your number comes up, it could be death and anything in between. You escaped with a broken arm and no worse. Rather than curse the stars, count your blessings. It could have been worse.

Wish you the best going forward. I have a feeling you'll heal from the physical before you cover the financial on that ambulance ride, though.
Don't they sell plans for like $100 per year for ambulance coverage?
