My 2022 2500hd had an odd stutter the 1st time it shifted everyday. After that time it would be fine and drive/tow with no issue. Took it to the dealer to get it serviced/fixed/whatever

Come to find out there is a issue with the transmissions locking up and there for locking up the rear tires while driving....

No known fix. They do have a flash about to come out that warms you 5-10k miles before and puts the truck in 5th gear so you take it in. Issue is mine is already past that point. And in danger of doing it at any point. GM told the dealer they couldn't release the truck back to me..... they did get me a nice rental. For 2 months to start..... fuck my life. Not like I use my truck for work or anything :mad3:
Beat the shit outta the rental. Youtube it and make WD monies.

Yep, My friend has a 2019 I think with about 20k miles. They have replaced his torque converter and the pump already.

My BIL handles buying the Sherriff offices patrol cars. He says he has had to replace every transmission in the Tahoes by 60k miles. They cost $5-$6k each.

Sounds like theft to me. Legally they cant keep your truck. Theyre a company not the govt. They better be giving you something equivalent to drive at no cost.

2014+ GM torque converters are garbage. There's not an 8spd out there worth a shit. 6spd and 10spd are hit and miss.

Not at all.

You're the exact kinda person who would want to sue them if you got hurt because they let you drive that truck off the lot.
They do have the obligation to do what they did.
No. They have the obligation to inform you of the issue. They do not have the authority to keep your vehicle. Its a simple release of liability form. Again your reading comprehension is as pathetic as your assumptions of whether I would sue.

The dealer is taking care of me. The loaner is nice.

Assuming it's not paid off the owner of the lien could keep it for liability reasons, to the best of my understanding.

I'm sure there's also fine print in the warranty allowing them to keep said vehicle to repair any potential life threatening manufacturing issues. Just another assumption.

If this is true...

once they recalled or warrantied some thing in one of my trucks, told me it was a few hour job.
I made an appointment, and made it known that I needed it back that day, cause of work and all, they asknowleged and agreed it can be done
They got it, and kept it with every excuse under the sun (we all know they were working on the bigger money jobs, but man up and tell me that)
On week two, I showed up with my bicycle, and camp chair

told them that I will probably be setting the alarm off all night if they didn't get it wrapped up by the end of the day, cause I am camping:grinpimp:

and just like the Forrest gump voice said, all of a sudden they had it done in a few min

OP man up and take your shit back

There are liability issues in these situations and as long as the company/dealer is making it good its not a big deal. But while they do have liability concerns they have no legal standing to keep your property if there not making you whole lien or not. Some dealers will just leave you hanging or offer you a cobalt while fixing your 3500hd work truck.

They're trying to avoid the massive lawsuit like Harley just lost in New York.

290 million dollar judgement because of a software glitch that killed a lady.

If the warranty or lien agreement has that fine print and you sign it, they have the legal standing.

Fabrats just put some new aftermarket kit in their valvebody on their Duramax that's supposed to fix that
