What's new

***Fail***

I drove normally & straddled debris ~8" high in an Outback when there was a fast/furious fartcan Honda on my ass for no reason while I was going 50+ in a 45  :flipoff2:

I did roll my window down to hear the introduction of air dam to oak limb - so satisfying

I had a little mazda hatchback thingy riding my ass in the highway truck on a 4 lane stretch of road. I'm doing 100km/h or so fully loaded, fucker will not go around me. Big ol' chunk of recap sitting on edge in the middle of the road, straddled it, and watched in the mirror as that poor bastard caught about 3' of air off the thing. :lmao:

Came back the same way a few hours later and the car was sitting at the side of the road, big ass oil slick going from where he hit the recap, to where he was parked.

I couldn't find the 'Fucktarded Inventions That Don't Need to Exist' thread.

"General Motors is recalling more than 323,000 heavy-duty pickup trucks in the U.S. because the electronic tailgate release switches can short circuit and open the gates while the vehicles are in park."

Ford has the same problem... when driving.

But the people who buy trucks who don’t use the bed other than the occasional bag of dog food want that option:lmao::lmao:
This. People who use the truck dont spend money on that crap which will just get jammed up or bent. Those trucks are marketed to the office dudes who fancy themselves as "needing" a truck and then add every luxury item possible to it. Everytime I see an ad for a "multi-function tailgate" I just think about it jammed up with sand and crap and never working.

why would you want a auto tail gate?
I have never gotten tired when lowering a tail gate nor needed electronic assistance to do so, not once ever
This.

Just the dumb mfg seeing how much ch electric crap they can add. Probably connected it to the cup holder light and the passenger side blinker just to really fuck it up

I use it all the time to drop the tailgate when I'm leaving the house to load shit in the back. Saves me from having to put stuff down to lower the tailgate and pick it back up to load it. Or saves a trip to lower the gate, then go back and get stuff.

Do I need it, NO. Is it a convenience that I like. Yup.

I never had electric tailgate on the nice work trucks I used to drive, or I don't think they were electric, but the Chevy tailgates where you could pull the handle and let it go and it wouldn't slam down, springs or something made it slow down and not bang.. that was kinda nice. Otherwise yeah the 6 way tailgates and all is just expensive crap to break.

Mine has it, I always forget to use it, soft close is nice though.

I liked my electric lift/lower tailgate. Especially when closing it after hooking up the 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. Beat the shit out of lifting it from the side.
Then my new truck has the fancy 6 way (or whatever) gate. Heavier, and I don't really use the step feature. And OF COURSE, the heavier tailgate doesn't power up. :shaking:

Add in that the stupid fucking engineer didn't take a trailer hitch into account. When you fold the step down, it hits the trailer hitch and scratches the fuck out of the tailgate. Ask me how I know. :mad3:

Ahh, that foreign ice phenomenon
I’ve been in Montana a long time now, but several years ago the glare ice on the north slope of a hill early in the morning just about got me.
Rest of the highway was bare and dry so I’m booking it on my motorcycle, created a hill and I was on skim ice that the sun hadn’t gotten to yet. I still can’t believe I made it 2.8 miles (ok about a 100’) without going down. Didn’t need any coffee the rest of the day. I was wide awake and my bowels were fully functional.

I’m only a few hours directly north of you and still get caught with the occasional surprising road conditions, last month I managed to slide straight through a red light, thankfully the cross traffic saw I couldn’t get stopped and waited for me to clear the intersection.

I was on my way to Glacier and then up to Banff on that trip!
There is some drop dead gorgeous country up your way.

No video but headed home today some bitch from NC driving a Wrangler 4xE decided to hit the brakes slowing down 10 mph from the posted speed limit on every down grade. I finally just laid into the horn every time she did it and finally passed her going up hill. So glad I work for myself and don't have any logos on my service truck.
