EV causes another ship full o cars to burn

Anyone hear about the two Hyundai IONIQ cars where the batteries were dented and the dealer and insurance companies put the $65k liability on the customer and are liable for damages if the car starts a fire ...

Only really need 30 min or so to contain a lithium battery fire
why not do what all the gun safes do, four layers of 5/8" drywall
vent it outside yeah, but it'd keep the fire contained for a good while, hopefully until it burns out on its own

Sometimes it's not that easy. They keep re-igniting.

so?
it'll still be inside the gas chamber when it relights

unless someone notices hey my batteries caught fire and opens the door to the li'l fireproofed cubby hole and gets a face full of eco-friendly

that's on the side of the road. Imagine if that's in a parking garage, garage under a house or stadium parking lot. Tha'ts the problem with an EV fire. You could have it extinguished and then have it start burning again just because the wrecker started loading it. Then you have hydrogen fluoride in the smoke from an EV fire where you really don't have it on conventional vehicle fires.

Does being enclosed in this snuff box make the heat during charging go up and increase the likelihood of spontaneous combustion? Our M18 charging station (s) is something I worry about.

Dunno, I charge my batteries on a table that's piled with about a decade's accumulated power bills

really should burn them one of these days, don't know why I keep them

Shouldn't be enough to matter

Power bill was the only way I could prove I owned my property to the county the other day

Cars and id don't line up etc
