Need to get a push mower for the cabin. It has like 2500 square feet of lawn to cut. Anyone have a electric mower they would recommend? I’m a milwaukee fanboi but the price premium over the other brands doesn’t seem worth it to me.

I don’t have the time to mess around on Craigslist for a used one, don’t want to mess with gas either.

Greenworks seems to get good reviews from the folks I've talked to. Don't know the price difference though. If it were me I'd get the one that fits the batteries I already have.

We've gotten our money's worth out of the DeWalt 20v, or more since we've been using it as a mulching chipper vacuum for the last two years. By the time we put any lawn in at our new house, it will probably be totaled

I had a dewalt one at the old place but only a couple hundred sqft. I would buy another if I had less lawn than I do now.

We have the milwaukee stuff but for this there is no need to standardize. Fleet farm had a whole rack of them for 3-450 ish milwaukee 1000 :lmao:

For a house that your not in all the time. I would just have the mexican up the street, trim the yard every couple of weeks.

Just the same, find out who's doing the other houses in the area. $50-$100 month to not have to mess with it.....

That works for other electric yard tools, not so much regular power tools. You can't just take your drill battery and power the mower. Well you can, but it probably won't work for shit.

Makita does the dual battery thing, but I've heard it sucks unless both batteries are basically brand new.

EGO seems to do the best in all the tests and comparisons. I haven't seen much about the milwaukee, but they are such a premium it's hard to justify.

Look who you're talking about. I'm sure the 1in impact takes the same battery as the mower. Dude has more tools than Carter has pills. Maybe I'm wrong. But I ain't. :flipoff2:

I haven't looked at all because I'll never buy one, but for $1k did it maybe include the batteries? I'd sure fucken hope so. Can you get it without?

get whatever is decent and make it run on the milkwaukee batteries.

my kids stacyc bikes are on m18 batteries and it wakes them up quite a bit... makes them illegal to use in races at the track tho.

even the 36v dirtbike the wife rides around on is on a couple of m18 batteries.

Ya, but I'm sure he doesn't want to bring batteries home from the shop or visa versa.

I'm a Milwaukee Boi also, but I'd be getting the ~$400 mower vs the $1k red one also.

It comes with (2) 12ah batteries and a dual bay rapid charger. The batteries retail for $250 each. That's half the cost right there

Again, I said I heard good on green works. Don't know the cost of those. I however would get the one that fits my batteries for myself. Let that sink in. I never said Milwaukee. :lmao: you did.:flipoff2:

How often will you be around the cabin during the mowing season? I've been looking at the automowers so I don't have to spend the time mowing my lawn.

Maybe once a week should take about 10-15 mins. Don’t forget I live about 10 mins away so I can pop over a late evening and do the chores before the weekend.

I don’t think the lawn is not nice enough yet for a robo mower. Plus my luck Carl the lawnmower would end up in the fucking lake lol.

Foundation guy stopped over today, I was quizzing him on what it would cost to pour the basement under the cabin. For you we would work something out :flipoff2:. It’s nice to be in this business.

Lol the only flaw with this theory is I would have to find the fucking battery for the mower BECAUSE it was used on the 1” impact :lmao:. In this case it might be proactive to get a different battery setup so it stays at the cabin and doesn’t get cherry picked for the real work :homer:

Touche :lmao::flipoff2:

Love my dewalt 20v. It came with 2 10amp batteries for cheaper then the batteries alone would have cost. It will probably mow 8-10k sq feet if your doing it at least weekly but drops to 3-4k square feet when pushing through 6-8" grass

Damn, that's a sweet deal, it was a pair of 5AH batteries when we bought our mower. We use it as a yard vac. and weed mower, and can rip through a pair of 6A and another pair or two of 5A batteries in a session.

With the Milwaukee you can. That's the whole idea is they draw you into buying $250 12.0 batteries, but they fit the drill, impact, sawzall, weed eater, mower, bandsaw, etc. I'm sure it runs fine off the 6.0 & 8.0 with a shorter run time. Power will go down with standard batteries vs the HD just like every other tool.

I'll probably buy one once my old gas mower dies, but I already have over $10k in tools and batteries so for me it's convenient to keep going with the same batteries.

Considering I already have stuff like the super-hawg that pretty much requires a 8 or 12ah battery to be useful, I see no reason it wouldn't work out just fine.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't use the fuel mx, because then idiots like me would buy them and then need a few light plants and a jackhammer since we have a battery for it :homer:

I'm pretty deep into Milwaukee batteries too, but the price point on their mower makes me cringe. My brother is all DeWalt and says the mower is great, and half the price of the Milwaukee. Don't know what batteries it comes with, as already noted, retail on the batteries included with the Milwaukee is $500 for both if you buy them separately with no charger, so the mower as a standalone "should" be about 450ish without batteries (if they sold it that way). Still steep.

Home depot had it for $299 so I impulse bought it.

I have an EGO as well and love it. So much better than the gas piece of shit I used for years. Would recommend for sure.

The DeWalt os pretty good, I really like mine. Just make sure you charge it regularly it sucks to be out of battery halfway through. :flipoff2:
