Do you back in?

What are you going to be demolition derbying if you need to leave in a hurry?

On our oilfield sites. Everything is a working bomb because we’re moving stored energy with ignition sources all around it. People have backed over pipes and caught extra stuff on fire trying to make a quick getaway. We’re trained to have the front of the truck already pointed in the direction of leaving location so that if something bad happens theoretically you can jump in and go without having to think about what you’re about to run over.

Yeah.

We don't have situations like that so there isn't really "leaving in a hurry".
On the drill site the trucks are backed in or can pull through since our crew is small and each truck has something in it that we need on site.

I always try to park somewhere easy to access and out of the way. I park stright in my personal parking spot at work so the sun is to the back of my vehicle when I leave. The work trucks are parked stright in so they can be backed stright up to the doors to be loaded.

I've only ever been on one natural gas well site transporting and placing a poly tank for them, from their yard to the well. My transportation was our boom truck, they told me that it anything bad happens "run in that direction".

Always back in or pull through whenever possible, unless it's a nose-in angled spot that's designed for good visibility when backing out. Our grocery store has those types of spots in the pickup area (my wife does the online order/pickup in the parking lot thing).

Pull through more often but there's no through per say...I usually park in the boonies next to no one. Otherwise 110% back in when there's no option.

"Designed for visibility?" Our Walmart pickup parking is fucked for visibility backing up.

Yes, also a work requirement and a personal POV, if you need to leave in a hurry for life or limb to GTFO have your vehicles pointed in the direction of travel, also part of the boy scout motto be prepared in all aspects of life.

Depends on what I'm driving.

It is safer to back in because you know what's there and can control the space. When you back out of a space, you are at the mercy of morons who will walk or drive right behind you. When I taught my daughter to drive, I made her back into a space every time she parked. Now she does it out of habit.

When I drove a full size truck every day I did, now that I no longer have one I don't. I seem to usually get stuck by the dumb dick who can't figure out how to back his full size into a spot and has to back up and pull forward repeat about 20times.

Oh I bet. Parking lot design standards have come a long way, but many old and terrible lots are still out there...

Always at work because the people there are savages when it's quitting time. Rudest bunch of mother fuckers I ever worked with in the parking lot. In grocery stores no because I put my grocery in the back.

Depends. at home, yes. At grocery store not usually since I need to put junk in the trunk. I try t9 pull through whenever possible.

You know who thinks backing up to park is an unreasonable or stupid thing to ask? Women that’s who. If you have to back up to leave, them bitches are only postponing a back up.

Just watched two women back out of parking spaces into each other the other week... I honked to see if they'd at least pause, but couldn't get out of my truck fast enough to stop them.

I'm pretty sure if I worked for a place so gay as to require backing in, I'd be sure to park sideways and take up 5 spots.

Fuck overzealous "my way or highway" pencil pushing management with womanly smooth hands. Buncha parking lot hall monitor fags.

Plenty of parking lots were designed for 2 door civics.

Seems like every fucking one in Texas is like that. 90% of the time the spots are so narrow that if you pull in with a full size truck or SUV you can't open the doors. And other lots have the spaces across from others so god damned close that you can't physically back or pull out without making a 3 point turn. Everything is bigger in Texas.... Except the fucking parking lots. :mad3:

That's how circle k is in town 1/2 the parking you have to make a 3pt turn, which I can do more effectively pulling in straight. Backing out doesn't require so many maneuvers because the back of my vehicle can hang over the curb. Even pulling in, in the middle of the space I can only open up the door to about a 1' gap:homer:. The other half of the parking lot make no sense to try and pull stright in when accessing the lot from the "highway". Which would be the direction I'm going.

Voted yes to backing in but that's really only when I'm driving the dually and I back into my driveway. But when I'm driving the JK, I never think about it and it's probably 50/50.

Almost always so I can see when I leave. Our company also has a back-in parking policy.

Yes. Even got a ticket in Prescott Friday for it.:mad3:

Apparently there's a bullshit sign saying no backing. Even though I couldn't pull in forward in these spots. Fuck em, I'll fight em in court. Fucking dipshit money grabbing pieces of shit fuckstain cocksucking pukes.

Crew can longbed, easier to see.

Did Fire for almost 10 years, that’s just how I do it now.

Wife’s car, don’t give a shit either way.
