What's new

Did ya hear? Covid is over!

Actually went to a boutique type plumbing store yesterday and the psycho women who run it wouldn’t do business with you unless you wore a mask. They had plexiglass barriers up and both were wearing 2 masks and face shields…

One of my least favorite things about the covid cult is having to make already mumbly zoomer retail workers repeat things three or four times because I can't understand them through all of that performance gear.

I took my kids to lego land last week. If you're truly scared of catching an airborne transmitted virus, that is not the place for you. Lots of waiting in lines indoors, kids running around everywhere with runny noses not covering coughs/sneezes, large amounts of people packed into small enclosed areas, tourists from other countries, etc. ...And yet, there were still some guests there in masks.

I'm not sure how they reconcile the fear that COVID is a threat vs justifying in their head that it's ok to go to a packed children's theme park during spring break.

What's the next plandemic? Anything new from China coming out??
Our office computers open up to a news page by default. There is still a "covid" tab, and if you click on it, apparently it never ended and there's all these new variants out. Shit is buried at the bottom of the page. I had about forgotten about it in its entirety until I clicked on it last Thursday. Reading those articles is like we are still in the middle of lockdown. Some people loved that shit, and many would go back to it in a heartbeat. They can miss me with all of that bs.

Its absolutely amazing the amount of people who still wear masks out and about. These people are permanently broken.
Same here. Not many, but still see them daily. Two Karens at PT this morning were double masked. Nobody working there had one.

On vacation this last week traveling around. I noticed a lot of younger people in masks working basic retail jobs. At first I thought they were wearing masks due to some sort of work policy, but then I realized some of the older people working there were not wearing them. Can't figure out if it's a fashion needing to fit in with other young people type thing or if they truly believe they need it...

Or maybe it's just another handy way to distance yourself from other people, like head phones or hoodies or sunglasses.

My sons daycare is at a community center. Most mornings, I see two early 60s females drive in the parking lot in a Tesla, both are always wearing masks inside. It makes my heart sing.

I remember going on a walk with my wife sometime last year or so, three or four teenage guys were walking towards from the other direction, all wearing masks. Instantly My lizard brain got really unhappy that we allowed that to be normalized.

I had a Dr appointment last week, walked in grabbed my mask, go to sign in, receptionist looks at me and says "OH, we're no longer requiring masks unless you just want to"...I was like, heck yea!

Fashion. If you asked they are probably all ok the queer spectrum too. Gotta stay hip

I had honest concerns very early on that my neice would be pressured into this stuff. Thank the fucking stars she went the appropriate direction and decided to get in trouble for not wearing it or being deliberate as fuck about putting it on then drinking slowly or whatever. Sure she got kicked out of a few classes and failed a whole math course, but fuck 'em. Made me proud :rasta:

Pain in the ass teenagers are sometimes a blessing

does this mean i can finally stop getting tested to go to the doctors and other dumb stuff?:homer:
At Kaiser So Cal they stopped requiring masks on 4/1/23.

We had out kid 3/28/23 and had to wear masks the whole time and get she had to be COVID tested before hand.

Still see people with masks, I can’t understand why…but then again the media and .gov are celebrating mental illness …why not germaphobia

wife teaches and she says there are a lot kids who still wear them, even a handful at church.

a few weeks back the wife was working in the nursery and one of the teen helpers came in with one and the head lady told her she had to go if she was sick, she said she wasnt, so she asked why the mask, 'i just got braces and dont want people to see'

kids school called and told me that she was exposed to (gasp) covid and I should test her before returning to school

I was not a good parent when I told the nurse that covid was three years ago, and the only reason it stays around is to keep looking for it

I then asked if they were going to expel my kid again over it :stirthepot::laughing:

Nothing of substance to add, but kudos on taking the kids to legoland. That place is fucking awesome (or at least it was when I was last there almost 20 years ago)

Edit:
Doed this mean people looking to be state .gov employees (CA .gov workers in particular) don’t have to deal with the covid jab barrier to employment?
