So....you're saying you opened the rum first, then?

We just did stockings. Got $50 and a outdoor edge knife, some grilling stuff, etc. We didn’t do presents for each other this year, and haven’t gone to the folks house yet.

Got a Japanese hand saw I’m pretty excited about. Hopefully it makes my next attempt at wood butchery go a little smoother

What kind, what size, etc??

I don't recall if I already posted. I got some books, some carhartt gear, and a couple toques. My son and I make pancakes every weekend morning, so mum made us matching aprons out of #7.5 superior Canadian shot bags. Well washed so they're not loaded with lead dust at least🤣

I've had $25 knives and I have a few Benchmades, they are FAR better build quality and steel.

And I have had $25 dollar knives that didn’t fall apart in under a year like my Benchmade did and cut shit all the same so now what?

Benchmade has been riding their name while their quality is going down and the price is going up. Combine that with them pandering to a group that could be considered

unfriendly to their primary customer base in the likes of Dicks and Yeti and it’s a hard pass for me.

Fuck Benchmade. Those assholes helped the police cut up a bunch of buy back guns in Oregon last year.

I dunno I want some stupid "buy backs" to show up around here
I'd be at the front of the line with some 3/4" gas pipe.

That's what my brother and I are waiting for.

Looks like the wife got Covid for Christmas so there’s that.

I am considering making those for some extra cash here and there and keep me off the couch in between projects.

Mind if I ask what that cost? and the dimensions

If you do end up making anything similar let me know. I would love to have one of those. :smokin:

But only if you can ship it in a timely fashion...... Ain't nobody got time fo dat buy now ship when you feel like it RSS bullshit!

When Jewels asked, I said I wanted socks, which was met with some doubt and apprehension. When asked again, I confirmed, socks, and pointed out how threadbare my favorite Smartwools are.

I got 15, yes fifteen, pairs of Smartwools! :smokin:

Jewels also got me a kick ass rifle scope, I guess I'll be putting the Grendel parts together soon.

I got this before Thanksgiving, but it's technically a Christmas gift. If you're not from Arkansas, these are probably a little odd, but I've wanted a concert Razorback for a long time. It's about 20" tall and 80 lbs. I may repaint it, it came as pictured, I could do a better job on the paint and add some missing detail.

My folks got me a Milwaukee Fuel M12 3/8" Stubby impact and M12 rotary tool.

In-laws got me some UZI parts and metal working books.

me and the gf bought a nice carpet cleaner this year. we are gearing up for buying a house next year so nothing extravagent.

Also....her birthday was the 19th and she used my money to buy a coach purse.

Lee Nice score on the socks. It’s funny how the older you get the more you get excited about getting them. My favorites are/were the lifetime guarantee redhead socks from bass pro. I opened the box of 4 I got for Christmas this year and half were labeled redhead and the other half cabelas. The cabelas don’t have a lifetime warranty, but they seem the same construction wise

That fucking blows. Fuck all thieves, but especially the ones that steal tools. That’s taking away a guys livelihood right there. I can always use my tools to make more money, but I can’t afford to replace my tools.

yeah they boosted my black Kuny tool bag, I'm at around $650 so far spent to replace hand tools. Real piss off was my little estwing 16oz hammer...dad bought that for me 20 years ago last summer, when I got my first job wearing a belt. But they got my tapes (metric and imperial), quickpick screwdrivers, assorted pliers, squares, torpedo level, jap saw handle and blades, olfa knife and spare blades, Scraper razor and spare blades, magnetic dish, nail bar, glaziers bars, small putty knives...so much shit. Once a week or so I go to grab something and shit...realize they got that too, add it to the list. I'm just glad they didn't take my packout with my drills, Lazer, stiletto hammers...that would have been into the thousands, really quick!

Last time i had tools stolen was over 10 year ago out in Ontario, found out whodunnit, and went to his work to discuss it. He wasn't working that day, and I told his boss why I was there. Strangely, I went back a couple days later and it turned out he didn't work there anymore. Weird eh?

The worst part truly is all the little shit you never think of that you use all the time. You don’t know how important it was to you until it’s not there. And then the replacements are always slightly different, so you have to relearn how to use the new shit, which if you’re dumb like me takes forever

Totally. Stair gauges for my framing square, and all the spare leads for my mechanical pencils...not expensive, but massively inconvenient.

A Crescent 3/4 drive scocket set. Got tired of borrowing a set the once or twice a year that I needed one.
Got the wife a set of 3 antique copper pots she had been lusting over. :stirthepot:
