Christmas present scores

Got an $1800 bill today... my 16 yo ran over our 8 month old pup this morning. Little dumb shit ran right under the rear wheel before she could even think about brakes. He's run in front of vehicles plenty of times before now, but this time I'm guessing he slipped on the ice, and couldn't catch traction fast enough to get out of the way.
Anyway, had to run him to emergency vet 45 minutes away. He's being x rayed to check for broken pelvis, getting an ultra sound to see if he has internal bleeding and already got blood work conforming his kidneys and liver are ok and working so far.

When I was a kid something similar happened, but the dog ran in front of my mom headed out the driveway. $400 later she had a plate and screws holding her back leg in place. We were broke as a joke back then.

For Christmas I got to hang with my family and my FIL sent me a bottle of Weller Bourbon.
 
Books and clothes. Prepaid visas and gift cards from the inlaws and my folks. Gonna spend em alllllll at the tool store tomorrow....on a generator for the RV.
 
BXA Tool Quick change set for my lathe, Ultrasonic parts cleaner for doing carbs, and a really nice pocketknife from my daughter.

Well this bill is only to figure out if he needs surgery. If surgery is the answer, he won't be getting neutered, he'll be going into studding. He's akc papered (all i gotta do is register) and comes from a great line of dogs.

I got one a few years back, it's amazing how much better you can weld when you can see WTF you're doing. And remember, a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't... :lmao:

Buddy has a hobart helmet, doesnt always shade, been flashed repeatedly. Dont know if it's common or just an issue with his.

got a long drive, puppy puke in the truck, some hand towels in the kitchen and got to feel guilty about not dragging the pup to my dads.
 
My FIL thinks its funny to give crap on Xmas, this year he really out did himself. He cleaned his desk drawers out and gave me a few highlighters and a broken ruler.
I think I have finally convinced my wife to stop giving him real presents, next year I am going to find some used underwear at goodwill for him.

Got a garmin instinct solar I've een eyeballing. Pretty stoked about it.

I got a Carharrt rain defender hoodie as well, and and new bilge pump for the sailboat with backflow preventer and automatic without having to mount a seperate float switch..pretty stoked about that.
