Chief buggy

So in looking ahead, for interior, I am figuring on adding a water temp, trans temp, and oil pressure gauge? and a little cig socket style volt gauge?

I want to run the trans temp sensor inline vs in the pan. Im guessing use something like this?

Nothing to add on the important gauges/sensors, but on the cig socket style volt gauge, get one that has the voltage readout and 1 or 2 USB plugs so you can charge phones or operate USB fans.

Looks like Rife has made life easier and sells it with a Deutsch connector cast in. The one I bought had pigtails that I put into a DTM.

This has the shallow sensor that blocks less of the fitting. I ran it all season and did not notice any issues.

This, mine has a cover that snaps over too for washing ect.

Similar to what I used as well. I had a traditional analog volt gauge and then the plug in. Read out on the plug in was dead nuts accurate compared to the traditional one and I just used a cheap Amazon unit.

thats the plan!

Also what usb fans are you running? I need some for this coming season in the other buggy. I remember the bus driver using them growing up :grinpimp:

well that is badass! Thanks I need several of these and like these connectors over the spades and what not.

If I was running an aftermarket screen those look legit.

Small update. Just conversions had their 32spline rear output in stock. So I got that. Just need to install.

Also ordered a radial dynamics pump and pulley. When it comes I will be able to plumb out steering.

But I have gotten my hood done, did dzeus fasteners that are captured in the hood.

Also got my winch solenoid box
And mount made. Just need a plug that will be wired to a dash switch

Tax return is coming debating on shocks still and who to buy, and best way to stretch the dollar

Oh yeh, it will be 2.5" x16". Current leaders are JHF, ADS, KING, Radflo

Just a matter of what vendor and how to stretch the money.

I was talking to a local guy that is running the JHF bypass air shocks and he said they ride great. He was trying to talk me into buying a set.

I believe the JHF's are modified radflos. Supposedly if your rig is under 4k lbs these are the ticket unless ori is in your price range.

Only reason I throw the 4k out is Jessie himself said on FB that's the heaviest rig they've been on that he could speak for.

Right, based on other Hulse rigs, this should easily come in under 4k.

It reall comes down to $2400ish for Kings vs $2650 ADS, or $3100 for JHF

had no idea they made by pass air shocks. i bet they can get dialed in real nice
I believe they're mostly to combat unloading that air shocks can do especially on off camber. ORI does something similar if you look at the bronze rods in the pic below. JHF does it externally.

As a man who has been running leafs and coil springs....not sure i will be able to tell the difference in the shock levels from king to JHF.
You probably won't be able to notice the difference but as mentioned above it seems to help a lot. I know unloading isn't nearly as much of an issue now with the 2.5's.

Someone like YJ4Rox might be able to give you more information on the Kings, I know he's running them on his Hulse buggy.

You didn't mention the company but fox had some of the worse unloading way back in the day (Decades ago). In their new air shocks design they run a "negative" spring to help combat unloading but I have yet to read or talk to anyone who has run them more recently to get their real world review.

Whichever you pick I think you're fine. I'm in the same boat after some research. When the time comes it'll be kings, JHF's, or ORI's depending on what the wallet allows for.

I know people running the new stuff and it all seems to be way better about unloading. If I were buying today I’d at least look at Fox. Some of the guys I know doing the craziest stuff you’ve ever seen are running Fox Air shocks.

Also toying with this wild haired idea of running these sxs tire.

Some good info here for SXS peeps

EFX MOTOCRUSHER Tires (soft rock compound)

My idea was to use stock 18" super duty wheels, which can be had for $300/set. These are 18x8 +40 offset. This is like 6.07BS. I tried on and it doesnt fir. This would require the use of 1.5"-2" spacers (Found a set on ebay for >$100. might be able to use 1" spacers, with cutting the studs.

I think it would make for a super light tire/wheel combo, and flex great on such a light buggy compared to heavier truck tires.

I think it's a great idea. Don't use spacers, try to recenter/flip the wheels
