Carnage share thread

700 hours and 5000 miles between oil changes on this Ranger 1000 Northstar led to a glorious death. Customer had no idea, thought he had belt and clutch problems.

Madram11 posted this picture on YouTube. How does that even happen? Im assuming its a picture from the last U4 race? Thats not going to buff out...

I would assume cracked tubes in the heat affected zone and a lack of inspection. Looks like a solid axle car that was retrofitted with IFS. Either way, it looks like the IFS bulkhead came unglued from the chassis.

Sidenote: It looks like Big Sky 200 in Montana, so recent but not Ultra4 specifically.

Car # is 4406. Looking at it in pictures, it looks like a Trent Fab car? FB says he won the unlimited class at the Mint 400 with that car. Do you think this is a converted solid axle rig?

I was thinking Trent Fab as well. I do believe they made some IFS cars from scratch, but the front frame and ladder style tube work definitely have solid axle looks. I was thinking that it was the old 929 of Michael Feagins based on the Scooby Doo theme, but I am not even sure what that car was or who built it originally. I don't know that it is Bailey Cole's old car, but it is definitely similar.

I am also going to guess that it just rolled pretty hard with the passenger side A pillar and roof bar covered in dirt clumps.

"Initially built in 2015, this is Trent Fabrication's Top Shelf design chassis, which could be built using a solid axle or IFS..."

Guess you aren't supposed to use a 1/2" impact with these

It blew across the room and hit my birdseed bucket and sprayed that **** everywhere so I have some vacuuming to do. Better than a busted face. Gonna see if they will warranty it

Shock loading with a hammer when tight is your friend.

P.s. Canadian made isn't what it used to be lol. Except our flat rolled steel, still great... buy some.

This is from the BigSky200 race. These guys came hot into a dusty turn with a big bank/ berm. There was a class 11 car in the turn on the same line. Instead of smashing the class 11 car they went over the bank, landed on the front end, flipped a few times. Driver and Co-driver were ok.

That sounds a bit sketchy. If you were just spinning it up is one thing, but if you held the trigger when it got tight, you deserve it.
Which is why I wrap it in a towel when doing that.

Found these in a folder I forgot I had while looking for something else. Which came first??? Chicken or the egg? Crank break first and take out the block? Block break first and take out the crank? 2 bolt main 427 Windsor factory roller lifter/cam block. Scat forged crank. Was 700 hp until it wasn’t 😂
