Got a bit more aluminum work to do around the seats but the tunnel and firewall are complete.

The sides of the car will be a bit redundant. But it is the best way I can think of to keeping a Ford cab on the build and keeping everything “water tight”

The chassis is 95% plumbed. Still need to figure out catch cans and breather hoses for the trans, crawl box, transfercase and axles!

The tunnel was suppose to be 100% aluminum and removable but working down in the center of the rig in the “hole” is a son of a bitch so I made the top of the trans tunnel out of 14 gauge steel and the rest out of .120 aluminum. Between the rivets bucked into the firewall and the thicker aluminum it is super solid and feels really good.

The current plan is to bounce back and forth between aluminum work and wiring. Hopefully I can round up enough troops to get some wiring strung while I fab and continue to build.

Switch/ communication panel is coming a long nicely.

I decided to mount the radio filter inside the box right behind the comms module. Radio will be right under the box. Plan on also running some of that shielded wire loom that is used for crank signal wire over the radio coax cable so we should have zero radio interference.

Got some more stuff and things done. Got my wiring buddy showing up this week to start stringing wires and figuring out we’re things will be routed.

Got a bit more Tin work completed and laid the Holley terminator harness out on the ls and ordered some more parts and sensors to make that thing work.

Also found some volvo fan relays that are pre wired. My last build I loved the volvo two speed fan and wanted to run two of them on the cbr rad. But wiring was a hassle. Between ordering connectors and what not to build the plugs and paying a ton of shipping from multiple suppliers having these pre built kits will be very beneficial.

The aluminum work is finally done for the interior! Huge step in the right direction! Going to aluminum tape up all the joints once the car is wired and fires up and I know panels won’t have to be pulled for routing wiring and hoses.

I was going to start wiring but I am anxious to get a cab on this thing and get the front clip and hood mounted.

I have been working a bunch of over time and have not had a lot of time to work on it. But Got a bunch of small stuff done that makes it look a lot more finished! Currently working on wiring, filling fluids, springs, limit straps and a few small little fab tasks that need to be finished up!

Thanks for the compliments fellas! Decided to work on a petty little thing tonight. Felt like I was going to blow my knee out everytime I climbed in and out so I formed and dimpled these steps tonight! Hopefully they are not rock snaggers!

We got the wiring done and everything worked first time! It was stellar. The busted knuckle relay/ fuse box was really handy.

That is when things went to hell in a hand basket.

We got it fired up and of course we had a lifter clatter. Did a few of the tricks to help free up the lifter. ATF, marvel mystery oil and the last time we fired it up and free Reved the engine and it got so soo much worst.

Tore the valve covers off and found the collapsed lifter.

Pulled the head and found the push rod inside the lifter :homer:

At that moment I realized I should have rebuilt this engine before I installed it. :mad3:

The decision I made was to not pull the engine out. It is too close to driving and starting to test and tune.

Unfortunately with the tube work in front of the engine I could not pull the harmonic balancer. So no cam for me. Luckily the lifter did not eat the cam.

I settled for new gm lifters, chromoly pushrods and btr rocker trunnion upgrades.

Once we put everything back together and fired it up everything checked out and we moved onto the next step!

installed a 4 noozle fire suppression system from lifeline.

Added two under the hood spraying at the headers, one spraying at the fuel system behind my head and one spraying at our feet.

Really liked the aluminum tube with the push lock style fittings with no flares. Made things super easy.

Also got a ton of looming complete in the car aswell.

Also got this really neat Kinetic rope mount from a black fish that is a vendor on the forum. Pretty cool he is also from Washington state. Going to finalize its location once I get the voodoo rope!

I was following your build on instagram but I got to annoyed (with ig) so I deleted it off my phone. I’m glad I found it here I much prefer to be able to read all the details. I definitely want to see you race I need more Washington guys to cheer for. What made you decide to go with 4800 instead of 4500?

Awesome man! Ig sucks for builds. Great for follow likes and for random ass people to see your shit lol

Honestly I really wanted to build a bypass car with mechanical steering. Maybe one day I will but JT the tech inspector for u4 said my tube chassis design did not fit the bill for tech.

Even though it was two tubes stacked on top of each other and boxed in, he said it would not fly and would get red flagged by other racers.

So I cut the front off and did full hydro. Found way more up travel front and rear. Still a bummer though.

Wish there was a class inbetween legends and unlimited. We’re you could race a bypass car but still have the some restrictions like tire and motor placement.
